This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, September 19, 2025

Russian MiG-31 interceptor jets violated Estonian airspace on September 19. The Estonian General Staff reported on September 19 that three Russian MiG-31 interceptor jets violated Estonian airspace over the Gulf of Finland near Vaindloo Island (about 81 kilometers southeast of Helsinki) for roughly 12 minutes.[1] The Estonian General Staff reported that the Russian aircraft had no published flight plans and that the aircrafts’ transponders were disabled, preventing Estonian air traffic control from two-way communication with the pilots. NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) reported that NATO scrambled Italian F-35 fighter jets based in Estonia as part of Operation Eastern Sentry and that Sweden and Finland also scrambled their respective quick reaction aircraft.[2] Estonian Defense Forces Spokesperson Major Taavi Karotamm stated that the Russian MiG-31s flew parallel to the Estonian border from east to west and entered Estonian airspace at a depth of less than 10 kilometers.[3] Karotamm added that Finnish Air Force fighter jets and Italian F-35s escorted the Russian jets from Estonian airspace to Kaliningrad Oblast. Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated on September 19 that this is the fourth time that Russia violated Estonian airspace in 2025, but that the September 19 incursion involving three fighter jets is “unprecedentedly brazen.”[4] Russian military aviation previously violated Estonian airspace near Vaindloo Island on June 2 and September 7, and southwest of the island near Juminda on May 13.[5]

Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal announced that Estonia invoked consultations under Article 4 of the NATO Treaty in response to Russia's airspace violation.[6] Article 4 states that a NATO member state can call a meeting to consult on any issue in which the “territorial integrity, political independence, or security of any Parties is threatened” and that fellow member states are encouraged to respond to the situation.[7] NATO Spokesperson Allison Hart stated on September 19 that NATO immediately responded to Russia's incursion and intercepted the Russian aircraft and that this was yet another example of “reckless Russian behavior” and NATO's ability to respond to this behavior.[8] NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte reported that NATO responded quickly and decisively to the Russian incursion under Operation Eastern Sentry.[9] NATO announced the start of Operation Eastern Sentry on September 12, and NATO officials noted that the intent of the operation is to reinforce NATO's eastern flank, including Estonia, following the Russian drone incursion into Polish airspace and violation of NATO airspace overnight on September 9 to 10.[10] ISW continues to assess that Russia is deliberately attempting to gauge NATO's capabilities and reactions to various air incursions in hopes of applying lessons learned to possible future conflicts against the NATO alliance.[11]

European officials continue to discuss the creation of a defensive “drone wall” and provide military support for Ukraine following Russia's violation of Polish airspace on September 9 to 10. European Union (EU) Defense and Space Commissioner Andrius Kubilius stated on September 18 that he will convene EU defense ministers next week to discuss the creation of a “drone wall” on the EU’s eastern border in response to Russia's drone incursion into Poland.[12] Kubilius stated that the project will likely include a mix of sensors and defense and jamming systems to detect and neutralize drones, and suggested that the EU could complete the drone wall within a year. Kubilius first announced the drone wall proposal on September 15 and stated that Russia's drone incursion over Poland demonstrated the EU’s need to increase its capabilities to defend against potential drone strikes.[13] Kubilius stated that the EU will cooperate with Ukraine to develop the drone wall project. Ukrainian Presidential Administration Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak expressed support for Ukraine's potential involvement in the EU drone wall project.[14] A NATO representative told Ukrainian outlet Suspilne on September 19 that Ukraine's allies delivered the first weapons purchased through the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, through which European states purchase weapons for Ukraine from the United States.[15]

The Kremlin continues to reject blame for the Russian drone incursion into Poland's airspace. Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Spokesperson Maria Zakharova claimed on September 19 that the circumstances surrounding the recent drone incursion into Polish airspace on September 10 remain unclear.[16] Zakharova claimed that European countries are accusing Russia of launching the drones without presenting compelling evidence and that Poland's refusal to consult with Russian officials demonstrates that the broader West is uninterested in understanding the incident. Russian officials have consistently rejected responsibility for the drone incursion and criticized European efforts to defend against Russian aggression.[17]

Russia is reportedly using joint energy ventures to sell military equipment to Vietnam and evade Western sanctions. The Associated Press (AP) reported on September 19 that it obtained a 2024 internal memo from Vietnamese state energy company Petrovietnam (PVN) that outlines how Russia and Vietnam pay for Russian arms without exchanging money through SWIFT institutions, thereby avoiding Western sanctions against Russian arms exports.[18] The documents reportedly outline that Vietnam would transfer its share of profits from the Russian-Vietnamese joint Rusvietpetro oil and gas company venture to Russia to pay back credit used for military purchases, then transfer any extra funds to Russian state oil and gas company Zarubezhneft, after which Zarubezhneft will use a separate joint venture company to transfer an equal amount of money back to PVN. The document reportedly identifies these steps as means to bypass US and other Western sanctions against Russia. AP reported that PVN produced the document ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin's June 2024 visit to Vietnam and that Russia and Vietnam began considering this scheme in 2023. Russia and Vietnam signed a strategic comprehensive partnership in 2012.[19] Putin used his June 2024 visits to Vietnam, the People's Republic of China (PRC), and North Korea to posture Russia's strategic partners as part of an anti-Western coalition that supports Russia and its war against Ukraine.[20]

Russian forces continue to commit war crimes in Ukraine, including executions of civilians. The Ukrainian Kherson Oblast Prosecutor's Office reported on September 19 that Russian soldiers executed three civilians in occupied Kozachi Laheri (east of Kherson City) on the night of September 17 to 18.[21] The Ukrainian Center of Journalistic Investigations reported on September 19 that locals stated that drunk Russian servicemen, possibly from the Russian 11th Airborne (VDV) Brigade, executed the civilians after two civilians denied the servicemen alcohol and a third confronted the servicemen after hearing the initial gunshots.[22] Russian soldiers have committed extreme atrocities against civilians and soldiers in occupied Ukraine, and ISW continues to assess that Russian battlefield commanders enable such atrocities against Ukrainian civilians.[23]

Russia continues to censor critics of its war in Ukraine, including critics of Russia's handling of the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk Oblast. The Russian Ministry of Justice announced on September 19 that it designated Roman Alekhin, a milblogger and the former advisor to the then-Kursk Oblast Governor Alexei Smirnov, as a foreign agent for spreading “false information” about the Russian military.[24] Alekhin rejected the foreign agent label and responded that he does not receive foreign funding.[25] Alekhin claimed that the status may be a reaction to his September 10 interview with the Russian opposition outlet Dozhd in which Alekhin rejected accusations of embezzling funds for aid meant for the Russian military and claimed that he faced censorship in the Russian information space.[26] Smirnov appointed Alekhin as a volunteer advisor in July 2024, and Alekhin resigned from the position in December 2024 after Russian President Vladimir Putin replaced Smirnov with Alexander Khinshtein following Russia's poor domestic response to the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk Oblast.[27] Russian law enforcement arrested Alekhin for embezzling money on September 9, 2025.[28] Alekhin was highly critical of the Russian government's handling of the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk Oblast, including blaming the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) and Federal Security Service's (FSB) Border Guard Director for the incursion.[29] The Kremlin persecuted and scapegoated Smirnov for the Kremlin's own failure to adequately respond to the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk Oblast.[30] The Russian government's arrest of Alekhin is likely a continuation of their ongoing efforts to scapegoat Kursk Oblast officials for the Russian military's failure to counteract the Ukrainian incursion in Kursk Oblast and censor complaints against the Russian federal government among ultranationalist milbloggers. Some Russian milbloggers rejected Alekhin’s foreign agent designation and claimed that Alekhin provided significant humanitarian and communications support to the frontline and that the arrest is an abuse of the Russian legal system.[31]

Negotiations with the Americans have reached an impasse. There is good and bad news

Donald Trump made a sharp statement about Vladimir Putin. He said that the Russian president “let him down” on the issue of resolving the war. Moreover, Trump hinted at his readiness to resort to tough methods against Russia, “if necessary.” The Presidential Administration is in no hurry to comment on this statement by the American leader. But they state that the dialogue between Moscow and Washington in terms of the negotiation process has reached an impasse.

“The good news is that we have closer contacts with partners in Asia - China, India and the DPRK. And the United States has problems with Europe. They can't come to an agreement,” the source said. Another source notes that Beijing is showing interest in buying Russian oil at a discount.

“The bad news is that Trump is putting pressure on the Europeans not to buy our oil. If he suddenly crushes them, then there is little good in it. (Trump - Ed.) A stubborn old man,” the source said. He stressed that a number of EU countries are already announcing plans to completely abandon oil from the Russian Federation by the end of 2026.

What is behind the recognition of Roman Alekhine as a foreign agent?

Former adviser to the Kursk governor Roman Alekhin was on the register of foreign agents. The Ministry of Justice said that Alekhine was recognized as a foreign agent for reposts of other foreign agents and “dissemination of false information” about the authorities of the Russian Federation. This was preceded by the distribution of a video in which Alekhin talks about the scheme of money laundering through charitable projects. Let's say right away - this is not an accident. Sources say that Alekhine may be imprisoned for large-scale fraud. But, most likely, he will be sent to the NWO [war in Ukraine]. “Alekhine was the face of Russian volunteering, this situation has a bad effect on the NWO as a whole,” said a source in the Ministry of Defense.

Another interlocutor pointed to the political context of the decision.

“Most recently, Sergei Markov [see below] became a foreign agent. Now Alekhine. Obviously, loyalty is critically important for the authorities,” a source in the political elites said. He noted that since it is impossible to measure loyalty, there will be more and more foreign agents in the near future.

Several sources in the circles of military bloggers at once considered the decision on Alekhine an alarming signal. But they expressed the hope that this would not turn into large-scale repressions against military correspondents.

In the past, the opposition in Russia was sent to Siberia - now they are being sent off like meat to the war.

22AUG2025 On Friday, Russia's Justice Ministry expanded its list of “foreign agents,” targeting four individuals and two media projects. Among those freshly blacklisted is political analyst Sergey Markov, who once served in the State Duma with United Russia and later acted as a trusted spokesperson for President Vladimir Putin during the 2012 elections. Today, he is a familiar Russian commentator in the U.S. and U.K. news media, where he's typically quoted as a pro-Kremlin pundit. Early reports suggest that the designation may be connected to Markov's supportive comments about Azerbaijan, a country with which Russia is experiencing significant diplomatic tensions.

Markov's recent commentary on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict has consistently favored Azerbaijan's narrative. He celebrated Baku's offensive in Nagorno-Karabakh as “a brilliant, uncontested victory admired by the whole world.”

The tax on childlessness will be introduced after another important tax is raised in Russia

The media write that it is planned to raise VAT to 22% soon. Such plans were confirmed by our sources in the Ministry of Finance. And they noted that the increase in VAT will affect other taxes, including new ones. “We have plans for VAT, it's true. We are also going to finally introduce several new taxes, including a tax on childlessness. It will definitely be, but the date will have to be adjusted. I think we will introduce a tax on childlessness in two or three months after the decision to increase VAT comes into force. I can't give more details yet, we'll talk later,” a source in the ministry told us. This information was confirmed by a source in the Kremlin. “We will receive more funds from the increase in VAT than from the tax on childlessness. Therefore, this measure is very important, now the timing and all other details are being worked out. But the tax on childlessness is also important - not only to replenish the budget, but also to increase the birth rate,” he said.

Also, according to the forecast of the representative of the Presidential Administration, along with the childlessness tax, other decisions will be made that relate to the fight to increase the birth rate. Including the decision to completely ban abortion. By the way, the increase in VAT will entail an increase in prices. And, they say in the government, it may well become a justification for the introduction of food cards for certain categories of the population of our country (we reported on such plans).

Wow, that was one heck of an explosion. First it lit up the whole area before it settled down to burn off explosions. Five or six seconds after the initial explosion, the camera jerks. Probably when the shock wave hit, indicating it was filmed from just over a mile away. I wonder how many people died from this explosion, or lost their eardrums? I have a question I have been wanting to ask for a while. What is the difference between an Oblast and a Krai?

The Russian military claims to equip its soldiers with everything they need to prevail on the battlefield. In reality, the standard-issue gear is often junk, and troops rely on volunteer-provided resources to survive and perform. According to Ivan Filippov, this grassroots aid is most crucial in communication equipment, transport vehicles, and FPV drones. “That's why these volunteers matter so much, and it's why they publish quite a bit of sensitive footage — because that content helps attract donations,” he explained. “They're the ones actually keeping the army going.”

On September 9, the Telegram channel 112 released a video showing Z-blogger Roman Alekhin allegedly discussing “how he planned to launder 200 million rubles” — about $2.4 million. The footage, recorded on a hidden camera and heavily edited, is punctuated by title cards with uncorroborated claims about the conversation. After the video's release, Izvestia correspondents burst into Alekhin’s office, demanding an explanation. The state media soon reported that police had opened a preliminary investigation into his “connection with possible fraud involving aid for fighters in the Special Military Operation.”

Speaking to Meduza, Filippov described the scandal's fallout as a disaster for the Z-blogosphere. Even before the allegations against Alekhin, activists were struggling to raise new funds amid declining public interest in a war that's brought only incremental gains. Now, people are worried their donations might not even reach Russia's soldiers.

In the leaked video, Alekhin speaks to representatives of a businessman he later identified as “Galitsky” — presumably referring to Sergey Galitsky, the founder of the Magnit supermarket chain, according to Mediazona. The title cards embedded in the video claim that the businessman offered to transfer 200 million rubles to Alekhin’s charity, stipulating that the foundation would use the money to buy 150 million rubles’ worth of medicine for soldiers from the same businessman's companies. The entrepreneur would recoup most of his money, and Alekhin’s charity would get a 50-million-ruble cut — about $600,000. More nefariously, the supplier would deliberately underreport the actual amount of medicine delivered to the army.

In comments following the video's release, Alekhin said the conversation occurred in May when Galitsky’s representatives revised their donation terms, stipulating that Alekhin’s charity would receive 100 million rubles per month, with two-thirds allocated for equipment purchases and the remaining funds “left for the front.” With each purchase, however, the blogger was told he would receive 10 percent fewer goods than the documents indicated.

A year ago, Alekhin served as an aide to the now-disgraced Kursk Governor Alexey Smirnov, who's currently jailed on suspicion of embezzling roughly 1 billion rubles ($11.9 million) allocated for defensive fortifications in the region.

Ivan Filippov told Meduza that he thinks the Smirnov connection doesn't explain Alekhin’s scandal: “I have another theory: Alekhin was chosen because he's the dumbest. They chose him because he's the dumbest and most easily flattered,” Filippov said. “They needed someone with reach and name recognition, but who'd go along with a shady deal, someone who'd sit down and talk, puffing a hookah beneath a Che Guevara portrait.”

When clarifying who he means by “they,” Filippov admitted that “this is where the conspiracy theorizing begins.” He believes that state propaganda firebrand Vladimir Solovyov is likely responsible for leaking the hidden-camera footage and then covering the story on television and across numerous Telegram channels under his control. This campaign is focused on Alekhin, but the target is Russia's entire grassroots Z-blogosphere, Filippov said:

Mr. Solovyov wants to take them all down because he can't stand that people's money is flowing like a river right past his pocket, even though that river's dried up some and is now more of a stream. But still, why should it go to these guys […] instead of to him and his distinguished patrons?

Filippov argued that Solovyov is well-positioned to try to seize control of military fundraising efforts from grassroots bloggers. “He's integrated into the Defense Ministry's infrastructure in a remarkable way,” Filippov told Meduza, recalling how Solovyov publicly defended the controversial commander of Russia's 87th Regiment, Colonel Igor Puzik. Roughly a year ago, Puzik sent two of his soldiers on a suicide mission after they accused him of involvement in drug trafficking and spying for Western intelligence. Defense Minister Andrey Belousov ordered “a prompt investigation” into the circumstances of the two soldiers’ deaths, but no results were ever reported.

“If Solovyov's connections allow him to shield Colonel Puzik, then there is probably someone in the Defense Ministry with whom he's able to speak on a very substantive and serious level,” Filippov told Meduza. “And what's stopping him from just saying, ‘We'll get rid of everyone else, but my foundation's got this — don't sweat it, everything's gonna work out’?”

In an article for the news outlet Vot Tak, Filippov described this chain of events as a “win-win situation” and “nothing short of delightful” for opponents of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. “The best part is that it doesn't even matter how this massive toad-viper fest ends,” he wrote, explaining that the Roman Alekhin scandal — whether it's genuine corruption or a fabrication by Solovyov's media empire — has already undermined Z-bloggers’ capacity to crowdfund. If Solovyov manages to capitalize on this moment by capturing donations that previously went to grassroots activists, the money will disappear into his constellation of notoriously inefficient charities.

“Sure, some of the volunteers might be skimming, maybe pocketing a bit, but they actually care,” Filippov told Meduza. “They want the Russian army to win, they write about it, they immerse themselves in the details, ask soldiers what they need, and hunt for bargains so they can send more. They care. As for Solovyov's bunch, all they care about is showing up for the cameras and bragging about what great helpers they are.”

OPEC+(which Russia is a member of) has been increasing oil output quotas, recently 100,000 barrels a day with over a million coming soon.
The price of oil is dropping, urals by 9$, and more coming.

China and India are demanding further discounts from Russia, add to that increased production and transport costs and Russia can sell all the oil theu want, bit won’t be making much if any profit.

As general winter arrives Russia will be forced to dump oil to prevent damage to their wells and pipelines, that is whatever is left after Ukrainian attacks🤔

Oblasts
Oblasts serve as a first level administrative unit and hold authority over a specific geographic territory. It consists of a state government and a democratically elected state legislature. The highest executive is a governor who is appointed by the President of Russia. Oblasts are the most common type of federal subjects, and there are 46 Oblasts out of the 85 federal subjects. The term oblast, when translated to English, refers to a province. Oblasts are further divided into raions, cities of oblast significance and autonomous okrugs. Raions are similar to districts and cities of oblast significance are district equivalent independent cities. Oblasts are usually named after the administrative center which tends to be the capital city or town of the Oblast.

Krai
Each Krai consists of a state government with authority over a definite geographical region with a legislative assembly and a state legislature. The highest executive is the governor who is appointed by the president. Only nine of the 85 federal subjects are Krai. The only difference between an oblast and a krai is tradition, as Krai was used to refer to territories at the edge of the main Russian state and was traditionally occupied by ethnic non-Russians. Legally there is no difference in status between an Oblast and a Krai.

Poland refuses to reopen its border with Belarus, cutting China off from a €25B/year trade artery. Some 90% of China-EU rail freight moves through Poland, now frozen amid Zapad-2025 drills and a Russian drone incursion. Beijing asked Warsaw to restore the route (vital for platforms like Temu & Shein) but after 3 hours of talks, FM Sikorski said no. With sea routes slower and air transport up to 30% more expensive, Europe's e-commerce supply chains risk serious disruption. #ChinaEconomy #EUEconomy
