Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

🥺The 🇺🇦Ukrainian soldiers provides food and medicine to abandoned civilians in the town of Sudzhi, Kursk region This time helped a man who had a stroke and his father. Humanity and Kindness are what distinguish us from the orcs who committed countless war crimes and genocide.

Seeking more info on the surprise strike by Ukraine on the nuclear aircraft sites, I entered “operationspiderweb” into the Search bar. The only recent post was on June 2, 2025, and contained a lively fight between pro Ukraine and pro Putin FReepers. The key Putin arguments were that operating without uniforms was against the “rules of war”, that it was not fair to hit exposed airplanes that sat outside because of nuclear war agreements, and that Trump had to have known this was in the works. There were a number of pro Ukraine arguments and counter-arguments. Apparently the rules exposing airplanes outside has expired as the agreement is no longer in force. It was pointed out there is a difference between targeting a military airbase, and bombing civilian hospitals. People thought it was unlikely that Trump had information on these plans.

Personally I thought there were stronger arguments, such as the bombing of a children’s cancer hospital, incinerating trolly car riders, and that huge bombing of the public building clearly marked “children are here” that probably resulted in 500 dead. This last horror occurred before the long planning of operation spiderweb began. Was it the motive? I think it is unlikely that either Biden or Trump were given information about this complex plan. Biden’s faltering capabilities had to have been known to Ukraine intelligence, and how well do Trump or his choices keep secrets? Did Israel inform our president of plans to provide hundreds of exploding personal communication devices to Hamas activists?

One factor no one brought up is the fact the pro-democracy advocate, Novalny, had millions of supporters. After his death in miserable prison conditions, how easy would it be for Ukraine to find smart, secretive, and bitter Novalny supporters to help with some aspects of their plans. Also there have been many reports of sabotage of many kinds of Russian sites in recent months. Is it organized or spontaneous freedom fighters? How much will it increase as military demands increase, and living/economic conditions continue to deteriorate in the coming months? Some argued Ukraine MUST have had US support for finding target locations, but others pointed out that Google Earth is very useful for finding things in plain sight. I have used it for hours, and have been delighted that many areas provide 50 foot level of visual info, even in isolated and primative locations.

Given the fate and experience of original CSTO member like Belarus and Armenia, it is obvious that CSTO membership is not a secure defense against Russia/Putin. All is not calm with other countries. I remember a year or two ago when the Tajik leader raked Putin over the coals complaining about lack of promised economic support. I’m sure these and other “Stans” are carefully studying the fate of Ukraine, and determined not to be similarly invaded and mauled. I’m sure that fact that some of these countries have massive oil deposits and Russia’s reserves are shrinking is not lost on these people. Of course it is also not lost on UK which has always been very attentive to the Middle East oil situation.

“The European Union will propose to G7 finance ministers to lower the price cap on Russian crude from the current $60 per barrel to $50, European Economic Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis said...

...many analysts argue the price cap has become less effective because Russia now largely reroutes its exports through a so-called “shadow fleet” of tankers that evade maritime oversight...

...Russia’s shadow fleet consists of approximately 500 (some estimate 700), mostly poorly insured and aging tankers that ship crude to countries such as India and China, in defiance of Western sanctions. These tankers, estimated to carry as much as 85% of Russia’s oil exports—which bring in a third of Russia’s export revenues—typically have opaque ownership structures and lack top-tier insurance or safety certification. Most belong to anonymous or newly formed shell companies based in jurisdictions such as Dubai, further complicating accountability.

The majority of shadow tankers sail across the Baltic Sea, a route considered critical for Russia’s energy exports. The shadow fleet uses various tactics to avoid detection, including ship-to-ship transfers in international waters, spoofed location data, and fake ship identification numbers. Some estimates suggest that approximately three shadow tankers carrying Russian crude pass through European waters each day, including the Danish straits and the Channel. Some experts estimate the shadow fleet may now include as many as 700 tankers.

However, Lithuanian National Security Advisor Kęstutis Budrys has highlighted the ambiguity surrounding the law on interdiction in international waters, warning that trying to stop the shadow fleet could risk an all-out military confrontation with Russia. Last week, a Russian fighter jet briefly entered Estonia’s airspace, in what some experts suspect was a reprisal for the Estonian military escorting a tanker named Jaguar out of the country’s economic waters. The Estonian navy acted quickly, believing the ship posed a threat to nearby underwater cables, and checked its status and registration. The Russian jet entered Estonian airspace without permission...

...”In the last four or five months of last year, we saw a roughly 10% decline in the amount of oil leaving from Russia,” Finnish Border Guard’s Head of Maritime Safety Mikko Hirvi told Reuters...

...A recent study found that limiting Russia’s shadow fleet may be more effective than simply lowering the oil price cap...

...In April report by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) found that Russia’s shadow fleet is shrinking. According to the report, shadow tankers transported 65% of Russian crude exports in April, down from 81% in January. Russia’s fossil fuel export revenues declined 6% month-on-month to EUR 585 million per day in April, while export volumes rose marginally by 1%.”

Russia sinks or swims, on its oil revenues. Europe is now talking about lowering the price cap on Russian oil for it’s next sanctions package, and cracking down on Russia’s shadow fleet - most of which pass through European waters in the Baltic Sea and Danish Straits.

Drones hit Lukoil’s Kstovo refinery, Russia, sparking a bitumen tank fire and a 100 sqm spill. The plant, processing 17M tons of oil yearly, produces fuel, diesel, jet fuel, and bitumen. A plane-like drone was seen pre-blaze.

More catastrophic data from Russian oil companies today as the entire sector has gone negative for Q1 2025.

Results for the largest Russian oil companies' activities for Q1 2025

Loss of -$4 billion, against +$4 billion in profit a year earlier

This was all BEFORE the fall of oil price in April.

It seems Q2 2025 will be awesome.

Sanctions work.

Of course, the pro ruzzia trolls proclaim all is well because Q1 revenue is 65 billion.

“4,970 to go (to one million Russian casualties). Thursday?”

It seems to be on track for Thursday, 12 June, which is Russia Day in Muscovy.

Russia Day commemorates the establishment of Russia as an independent sovereign state, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union - the very thing they are dying to reverse.

“Recent information from a NATO official says Russia’s total casualty rate versus the killed in action rate is around 1140 to 975. Thus more that 80% of Russia’s casualties seem to be dead.”

That has not been the case through the whole war, but on average, the ratio of how many Russians were killed rather than wounded has steadily gotten worse for Russia over time. It could very well have reached that incredibly bad ratio of four killed, for every one lost to wounds. Amazingly bad.

The steady loss of Russia’s firepower advantages in Artillery, Armor and Aviation; leading to increasing reliance on Light Infantry meat waves, is a big reason. The level of training and experience of Russian troops has steadily declined. Ukraine’s drone capability has surged. None of those factors seem likely to reverse this year.

Russia has not, or will not, adapt with better Force Protection, Medical Evacuation or early treatment of their wounded. We have seen reports of the wounded being sent back in on assaults, until they are killed.

These atrocious casualties are the fault of Russian leadership. Given the same constraints, nothing anywhere near this would happen with the American Military.
