This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Once again the magical thinking rampant in Russia Mir is exhibited. It was recently reported that Putin will be blessing a large number of crosses to give out to the Military to give them courage in their fights. This comment #14287 from a Russian source points out that “Putin’s Brain,” Alexander Dugin “has said more than once that Russia has several decades of wars ahead”. Soldiers are needed for that war so raising the age of youth (age up to which citizens can be mobilized) to 44 will solve the problem of more troops needed. It is magical thinking to believe that raising an age like this is going to make the military better because of it’s “youth.” Dugin has been full of good ideas, like alcohol prohibition, stopping abortions, and encouraging women to copiously reproduce. Like men will stop drinking, and women want more babies without a washing machine. Putin has been cautious in adopting them.
A subsequent comment here points out that Novolny stood out as a leader during strong protests when the retirement age for men was increased to 65, and the age for women also raised. How many women will avoid more children when grandma or grandpa can no longer provide free childcare. For now the Kremlin wisely reports they are considering “dozens of different solutions to strengthening Russia”, and it is good to consider future Army needs now, when there is no mobilization in Russia. So far the Army has been relying on those “willing” to sign contracts; but what will they do when they run out of people to sign such contracts, and the desire for warfare continues at the top?
As shown by the April 1 casualty and equipment losses, they are still loosing large numbers of soldiers (over 1500 4/1) but compared with losses in recent months, are already reducing use of equipment to transport men and materiel to the front as well as drones. Given changes in statements from our President, it appears Russia will soon be in bigger trouble. I imagine our currently growing MIC will exert some influence on OUR future plans as well.

The center piece of this bit of Russian magical thinking revolves around carving Putin’s initials (VVP) into the crosses.
Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, April 1, 2025
Senior Russian officials continue to reiterate the Russian demand for the elimination of the “root causes” of the war in Ukraine as a precondition for a peace agreement — a reference to Russia’s initial war demands that directly contradict US President Donald Trump’s goal to achieve a lasting peace in Ukraine. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov claimed on April 1 that the Trump administration is attempting “some kind of scheme” to first achieve a ceasefire and then move to “other models and schemes” to end the war.[6] Ryabkov further claimed that the Trump administration’s plan to resolve the war in Ukraine does not address the “root causes” of the war and that Russia, therefore, cannot accept the US proposal. Senior Russian officials have repeatedly defined these root causes as NATO’s alleged violation of obligations not to expand eastward and Ukraine’s alleged violations of the rights of Russian-speaking minorities in Ukraine.[7] The Kremlin’s demands to address these so-called “root causes” amount to a demand for the full capitulation of Ukraine with the installation of a pro-Russian government in Ukraine and long-term commitments of Ukrainian neutrality — the same demands Putin has made since before the full-scale invasion in February 2022.[8] Russian President Vladimir Putin recently intensified efforts to portray the current Ukrainian government as illegitimate and unable to engage in negotiations to end the war in Ukraine in an effort to undermine Ukraine’s role as a legitimate participant in discussions about the resolution of the war.[9] Putin and Russian diplomats made thinly veiled demands in late March 2025 for regime change in Ukraine by having external parties establish a “temporary international administration” in Ukraine under the auspices of the United Nations (UN).[10] US Department of State Spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated on March 31 that Trump did not appreciate Russia’s suggestion to establish a “temporary administration” in Ukraine.[11] Bruce also noted that Trump understands that negotiations will “require both Russia and Ukraine to make tough decisions and compromises.” Russia has so far refused to make any concessions and rejected the US-Ukrainian 30-day general ceasefire when Trump called Putin on March 18.

Sounds like they need some motivation.
Stick time.

Lack of loyal decision-makers.
Consultations are already underway within the Politburo on how to appease Trump, and in case of failure, what pain points to activate to shift the US president's attention to other problems not related to the war. For two days now, the Russian leadership has been working closely with its Iranian colleagues in an attempt to provoke them into taking aggressive steps against the United States, while simultaneously actively seeking support from China and India. And as the apotheosis of stupidity, the Russian leadership has nevertheless preliminarily invited the Taliban to this year's Victory Parade.
