Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Watching public TV news today I saw some new and interesting concerns to use in discussions elsewhere. Note I may not remember exact names and numbers on equipment mentioned below.

Apparently Finland is between 50 and 100 jets from the US (F-75’s?). Other European countries are considering ordering their planes elsewhere, wondering if after Trump’s statements the US is a reliable supply source. Finland is basing confidence on a long history of earlier purchases with (F-35s?). On the other hand there is a concern for Denmark. What if they base their air power on US planes and then Trump decides to invade and take over Greenland. Everyone with equipment from the US will be concerned about resupply issues.

It was pointed out that military supply industries will have strong opinions on this issue as their goal is sales and profits. They will want to continue to supply Europe which buys around twice from us as we do from them. Of course there are also markets in the Middle East, South Asia and S. Korea, Taiwan, and Japan.

Some countries have replied to Trump’s legitimate concerns about war welfare by actually increasing their GPS percent to the 3% level or at least are moving closer. I have not heard Trump use as an argument that we have two long coasts to defend so we may need to spend more, whereas Europe has only one major direction to arm against. The East Coast with its long path around Florida and then the lower coast to Mexico is probably as big as the West Coast when you view all the Alaska coast line including along the Arctic. There is a reason Russia was shipping heavy equipment for a submarine and/or advanced icebreaker in far east Vladivostok. Fortunately, this equipment sank in the Mediterranian Sea after a difficult run from the Baltic Sea and Atlantic storms. It was headed for the Suez Canal and another long voyage to its goal which would enable an icebreaker and atomic sub to have probable access to any area in the Arctic sea, including Alaska’s oil coast.

I am now listening to an interview on PBS News Broadcast with the Finish President and the two airplanes under discussion are R-35s and their old F-16s. There was a concern that the F-35s have a “Kill Switch” that we (Trump) might turn off, but the Finish speaker does not seem too concerned. He is now talking about the amazing level of unity now felt in Europe. Elsewhere I saw a report that Hungary will no longer be allowed to veto EU decisions.

If I remember the old Brexit arguments, one of the concerns was requirements for all members to agree to certains standards for products and follow them. One argument I saw was standards for cheeses. I realize that our country has certain national standard requirements for health and consistent product labelling, but I have the impression that if various states want to produce similar products with different qualities, they have the ability to do so.

I am wondering if the EU was setting up such narrow and strict standards, beyond those of product safety, that these have become reasons for Brexit in the UK, and why some other potential EU members are reluctant to join the EU. If that is true, then perhaps we could work with the EU to help with setting up a Federal system like we have, which allows regions for have their approved and loved regional specialties. I realize Europe has greater diversity in languages than we do, but various US states have made allowances for that. I have heard that Ukraine has now approved Russian as an official language for legal purposes. A number of states have probably made accomodations for Spanish or French, especially in border areas.

Another argument regarding Russia’s claim that the Russian speakers should live in Russia because they speak Russian. Last night a speaker remarked that we in the US speak English. Is this any reason we should be governed by the UK? For over 200 years Canadians have been happy to speak English in Canada, and have made special accomodations for the many French speakers in Quebec. During a visit there many years ago, it was funny to hear a group of boys jabbering in French: jabber, jabber, jabber, Strike One. Jabber, jabber, jabber, You’re Out, etc. In the UK many Welsh, Scots, and Irish speak another language as well as English. It has sometimes caused problems but they have been resolved. In Washington, DC, with it’s many embassies and foreign visitors and residents, a handout is sent with legal documents like property tax bills. It is an invitation to call help numbers for language translation problems. It lists about 2 dozen lines in different languages and scripts (Chinese, Korean, etc.) telling how to call for needed assistance.

This link is an interesting almost half hour vidio featuring Gen. Ben Hodges and his explanations and evaluation of factors affecting President Trumps attempts to get a cease fire in place between Ukraine and Russia. It begins with a discussion of the new missile Ukraine has developed that can travel 600 miles easily to Moscow, and its impact on peace discussions.
It also includes possible actions and attitudes by European countries. Then it covers yesterday’s dust up over our top security and military people holding a top secret briefing on plans for Yemen, while accidentally allowing a journalist to sit in on all the classified discussion. Near the end it touches on China’s interests in this issue. These are particularly good explanations for people who are rather new to all the complexities involved in getting Ukraine and Russia on the same page.

Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, March 25, 2025

Putin continues to reject Trump’s and Zelensky’s proposed temporary frontline ceasefire, despite agreeing to some form of ceasefire for strikes on energy infrastructure and in the Black Sea. Putin’s persistent stalling and intransigence are inhibiting Trump’s efforts to secure a lasting and stable peace settlement. The US readouts for both its meetings with Russian and Ukrainian delegations noted that Trump’s “imperative that the killing on both sides” of the war must stop, “as the necessary step toward achieving an enduring peace settlement” — likely in reference to the unconditional 30-day general ceasefire on the frontline that Trump and Zelensky have already agreed upon, but that Putin rejected on March 18.[13]

The Kremlin stated that it will not implement the agreed ceasefire in the Black Sea until the United States lifts sanctions on Russian state-owned agricultural bank Rosselkhozbank and other unspecified financial organizations involved in international food and fertilizer trade.[14] The Kremlin stated that unspecified actors — presumably the United States — must also reconnect Rosselkhozbank and other unspecified financial organizations to SWIFT and lift restrictions on trade finance transactions. Additionally, they must lift sanctions restricting companies producing and exporting food and fertilizers and their insurance companies, lift restrictions on servicing ships in ports and sanctions against ships operating under the Russian flag involved in trading food and fertilizer products, and lift restrictions on supplying agricultural machinery and other tools used in food and fertilizer production to Russia. The United States did not provide Russia such demanded sanctions relief when Ukraine and Russia agreed to the grain deal in July 2022.[15] The White House and Kremlin readouts of the US-Russian meetings noted that the “United States will help restore Russia’s access to the world market for agricultural and fertilizer exports, lower maritime insurance costs, and enhance access to ports and payment systems for such transactions,” but the US readout notably did not include explicit language suggesting that Russia‘s acceptance and adherence to the Black Sea ceasefire would be conditional on preliminary US sanctions relief.[16] The United States will likely require European Union (EU) cooperation in order to lift some sanctions and restrictions on Russian agricultural, financial, and trade entities to reconnect Russia to international agricultural and fertilizer markets.[17] US President Donald Trump responded to a question about the United States lifting some sanctions on Russia before Russia implements measures in the Black Sea and stated that the US is considering lifting some sanctions against Russia.[18] Establishing the initial grain deal in July 2022 did not require any sanctions relief, and reinstating the grain deal likely similarly does not require preliminary sanctions relief.[19] Establishing a temporary ceasefire in the Black Sea does not require preliminary sanctions relief.

The Kremlin’s official statements are vague, stipulate requirements for the ceasefire that neither the United States nor Ukrainian official statements mention, and leave room for disagreement among the parties that would be involved in interpreting the agreements, lifting sanctions, and monitoring potential violations. The official Kremlin statement is vague on the specific sanctions and restrictions the Kremlin is demanding that the West preliminarily lift and the specific financial organizations and companies involved. The Kremlin statement also does not specify the actors that will interpret the parameters of these restrictions, monitor lifting these restrictions, and verify all parties’ compliance. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine, Russia, and the United States issued separate statements because the US-Ukrainian meetings did not discuss US-Russian efforts to assist restoring Russian access to agricultural and trade markets.[20]

The Russian military continues to deny rotations to soldiers who have been fighting in the war in Ukraine for years. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during a meeting of the Council for Culture and Arts on March 25 that the Russian MoD is considering issues surrounding rotations for servicemembers who went to the front earlier in the full-scale invasion.[73] Putin stated that the “issue is acute” and vaguely claimed that Russian authorities “will proceed from the realities that are developing on the frontline.” Putin claimed that many mobilized servicemembers who have not had rotations have gained so much combat experience over the years that “many of them have become professional soldiers” and work alongside personnel from professional military units, like naval infantry and airborne (VDV) elements.

It doesn't surprise me one bit that you listen to left-wing propaganda, and it also is no shock that you'd bring it all here to the home of the Trump Resistance.

Russia is moving North Korean military equipment to the front via occupied Crimea.

A train carrying 7–8 DPRK-made “Koksan” self-propelled guns & military trucks was spotted in northern Crimea.

Another sign of Moscow’s reliance on Pyongyang for firepower.
