Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

🚀🔥 Chronology of the missile strike on Tuapse from DroneBomber.

At 02:09, a missile alert was given in the Krasnodar Krai, the first reports of a hit on Tuapse refinery began to appear at 02:15.

Most likely, the missile flew precisely through the air defense zone of southern Crimea, that is, radars detected it, but it did not fly into Crimea itself, but carefully flew around it at a safe distance.

Neptune is a sea-skimming missile.

I believe the ruzzian radars on Crimea never saw the missiles.

Target list?
Russian Military Moves to Revive Secret Soviet Submarine Base
Russia is reviving the Cold War-era Balaklava submarine base in Crimea as it faces frequent and precise maritime strikes from Ukrainian forces. The base’s outdated dimensions, however, prevent it from housing modern submarines, limiting its strategic value and forcing Russia to reposition key assets elsewhere.

“Russian Military Moves to Revive Secret Soviet Submarine Base”

The Ukrainians had made a museum of that base, and I walked through it while on a tour. It is tunneled into a hill, and has blast doors like a nuke hardened facility. Maybe a Kilo-class sub can’t fit, but it provides very solid cover for any vessel that can squeeze through.

A top-secret, abandoned Soviet submarine base that was hidden from the public for decades is now a museum. Take a look inside.

AdmSmith, the ‘Moscow Rules’ are a stark, sobering dose of reality. Every Westerner ought to carry them like a talisman — tucked in their pocket, ready to be drawn out and studied at a moment’s notice, day or night.

Thank you for sharing the tools helping us stay vigilant!

Fascinating and thank you for posting this!

Between chatting with Russian women online, watching the first John Wick movie some of the many times it’s rebroadcast on cable each and every month and especially reading the many posts of and occasionally chatting with the usuals here on FR, I have learned a lot about the Russians these last few years, some good things and some not so good things.

This list rings true for me and it’s helpful for answering some of my questions and for filling in some of the psychological voids and holes in my understanding about the Russians and why they do what they do.

Negotiations on a possible ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine have entered the final stage, with representatives of US President Donald Trump in Moscow and communicating directly with the Russian leadership.

Russia's rejection of Gen Kellogg as a negotiator, and Trump's apparent capitulation to that rejection, is a bad sign. I think Russia sees Waltz and Rubio as softer and easier to manipulate. Akin to Pelosi rejecting Banks and Jordan from the Jan 6th Committee. Kellogg was former Commander of Special Operations Command Europe, and probably understood Russian thinking better than the others combined. I'm sure Russia had a deep file on him and knew he was tough. I hope Waltz is up to the job, as I don't think Rubio is tough enough. Witkoff is an unknown as far as his capabilities in hard nose diplomacy. I'm not sure we are sending the A-Team here, and less sure without Kellogg.

They should damage the Kerch Bridge to the point it is no longer safe to transport heavy trains (only commuter trains were being used for a while). I think testing last spring was so worrysome that no heavy use of rail was instituted, although they used large ferries until Sea Babies put them out of business. Don’t know if they now can transport heavy equipment on rail, but they should weaken the road way (4 lanes) to the point it is only safe for auto travel and encourage the population to leave so Ukraine will not have to supply the excess amount of food and water for Russian population that was there at the height of Putin’s
ownership. Then there are Erdogan’s wishes to consider. Don’t know what they are at the moment, but he has been talking to Zelenskyy over time.

And Putin and Dugin think that Russian women are so stupid that they will be eager to reproduce with even less in the way of maternal health care than Russia has been reduced to in the past year. Why on earth do they think they can win and hold anything, especially people who have already suffered the likely very bad results in the past—Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, for starters. I find myself thinking of that little chunk of land Russia now has that borders the Baltic Sea. That was part of Germany’s East Prussia.

My mother’s parents emmigrated to the US from there. I think my grandmother’s body is buried in a cemetary there. I would like to visit before I die, but not if the Russians still hold it. I am told most of the Germans fled from there to Germany during WW2. I have heard family stories of relatives who fled in snow sleighs across the frozen Baltic in mid winter, children and all. Fortunately they made it, but for many broken ice was the end.

Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, March 15, 2025

The Kremlin is likely preparing to intensify a narrative that accuses Ukrainian forces of war crimes in Kursk Oblast in an attempt to discredit the Ukrainian military, erode Western support for Ukraine, and spoil or delay straightforward discussions about the 30-day ceasefire that US President Donald Trump proposed to Putin. Russian President Vladimir Putin, other facets of the Russian government, Russian state media, and pro-Kremlin mouthpieces have recently intensified claims accusing Ukrainian forces of committing war crimes in Kursk Oblast during their seven-month incursion. Putin asked on March 13, in reaction to the US-Ukrainian temporary ceasefire proposal, whether Russia should let Ukrainian forces leave Kursk Oblast “after they committed a lot of crimes against civilians” and reiterated claims on March 14 that Ukrainian forces committed “terrorism” in Kursk Oblast.[14] The Russian Investigative Committee announced on March 12 that it is opening investigations into alleged Ukrainian war crimes in areas of Kursk Oblast that endured heavy fighting and announced the conviction of two Ukrainian soldiers for alleged “terrorism” and “war crimes” in Kursk Oblast on March 14.[15] Russian ultranationalist voices, including those with Kremlin affiliations, have been amplifying Putin’s statements and Russian state media claims accusing Ukrainian forces of war crimes, including executing civilians in Kursk Oblast, more frequently in recent days.[16] Russian state media has amplified pro-Kremlin voices, including Acting Kursk Oblast Governor Alexander Khinshtein, accusing Ukrainian forces of war crimes in Kursk Oblast since the start of the incursion in August 2024 but has intensified these efforts since February 2025.[17] These claims are unsubstantiated.

Putin likely intends to use this narrative falsely portraying Ukrainian forces as brutal war criminals - as the Kremlin did in late 2021 and 2022 to justify Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine - to spoil or delay discussions about a 30-day ceasefire, especially when contrasted with Putin’s efforts to portray himself as a merciful leader.[18] Russian ultranationalist voices used Putin’s and Russian state media’s allegations of Ukrainian war crimes to support their calls for Russia to reject any ceasefire in Ukraine whatsoever and to justify the brutal treatment of Ukrainian forces on the battlefield.[19] ISW has frequently reported on the sharp uptick of confirmed Russian executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) on the battlefield in 2024 and early 2025 likely under orders from the Russian military command, and ISW observed a report of Russian forces executing Ukrainian POWs near Sudzha on March 13.[20]

“Russia has already lost 100,000 soldiers since the start of the year… 1316 per day.”

The multi-year trend of an increasing average Russian casualty rate continues, as they continue shifting from a tank and Artillery heavy mechanized force, into an increasingly poorly trained Light Infantry mob.

Seems as though there must eventually be a culmination of that trend, at some point. If current trends continue with high Operational tempo and stocks of hardware running low, Russian casualty rates would be expected to accelerate even faster through this year.
