Iran-backed Houthis sunk a British ship in the Red Sea on Monday and attacked two US ships in the Gulf of Aden.
The US is also investigating a US Reaper drone that crashed in Yemen on Monday.
According to reports: “The United Kingdom’s Maritime Trade Operations Agency (UKMTO) reported Monday that the Houthis sunk a ship traveling in the Red Sea , south of the port city of Mukha in Yemen. It is the the first time since the start of Israel’s war on Hamas in Gaza that a crew had to abandon their ship because of the Houthis.”

These ships are not U.S. bound. They're heading to countries in Europe.
“British navy is so weak now, it can not even protect British ships sailing through known trouble areas such as the Red Sea.”
...and Argentina is LICKING THEIR CHOPS at the Falklands.
The US Navy has been protecting global trade since WW2. Due to this no other countries have the ability to challenge us at sea. Even China wouldn’t stand a chance with their lousy military hardware. They are starting to lose what arms trade they do have because Pakistan, one of their few customers, is unhappy with Chinese radars that don’t see planes that are visible to the naked eye and with missiles that veer off to anywhere except what they are aimed. And their carriers and carrier aircraft are pathetic.
This is a main factor in planetary trade that has benefitted us as much as anyone. Without the US Navy piracy would put an end to world trade.
Considering what always happens when nations gain parity I’m happy to see us fund the Navy we have.
Too bad for the Brits. It is now a fascist nation where free speech is a thing of the past. Soon to be a caliphate.
But unfortunately for the US, the US merchant fleet is not only tiny, but most of it dedicated to internal and coastal trade, outgoing ocean trade is largely dependent on foreign owned and flagged big ocean going vessels. You can be angry about this being the result of careless neglect by generations of postwar politicians, but it doesnt change the fact that America is overwhelming dependent on non US civilian vessels and therefore cannot afford to only protect American vessels.
“I am given to understand,” that the thing has redundant self-destruct systems, for when things go awry.
But . . . somebody might not have installed the _______ [fill in the blank, being the aircraft building industry].
Fortunately, the garrison is large and well equipped enough not to need the navy to protect it. Argentina doesnt even have combat jets. The four typhoons permanent stationed there are literally more powerful than the entire Argie air force.

Does Operation Prosperity Guardian see any light at the end of the tunnel yet?
That sounds like a great question for Jennifer Griffin. Maybe Tucker can ask her
Let these companies and countries pay for it. It’s not worth one U.S. service members life.
The whole British Navy has like 25 ships.
We're 31 trillion in the hole and getting worse. What do you think we're going back to?
US regulations and taxes are a burden. So many ship owners choose to fly foreign “flags of convenience”. I get their thinking. It makes sense from a business point of view.
But here’s what those ship owners are saying: We expect the protection of the US Navy. However, we won’t pay for it. Not a dime. Let the US taxpayer foot the entire bill.
Something is wrong that picture.
Really! British navy would not win naval or land battles with former colony of India
Ignore the former military man. He was taught to love wars.
