I have had the same problem numerous times. My account people cannot explain why.
I would still say it is your CC company. They are the ones declining it to FR.
Same thing just happened to me.
I have NOT had this problem. My card is issued by a credit union. Maybe that makes a difference.
Give me your card number and i’ll try making some purchases somewhere else. Maybe it’s just you?
I donated last week. One issue is that the card address has to be precisely what you have listed via the credit organization. Not one digit or extra letter. I sometimes goof up on ‘county road’ and use ‘cty road’, which would make it declined.
Get used to it. Even if this is some kind of mistake, the Leftist totalitarians in charge are not going to tolerate financing dissent, even if they are forced to ‘allow’ it.
With that situation, is there some way to make a donation anonymously, like a postal money order?
Or some other way or paying cash for a money order or something and then mailing it in?

My Card works perfectly.
The charge decline issue is with the Free Republic website.
Same thing happened to me a few months ago. Try again tomorrow, it will probably work then.
Years ago this issue came up credit card payment to FR.
I went to an auto payment for my monthly FR pledge.
It is still be honored by my bank.

Had the same problem with my discover card. Used a different card and it went through.

I made a donation a week or so ago and my debit card worked fine.
Just tried again with mastercard and card was declined
no problem w card; use it constantly
so discover and mastercard has been declined
FR may be on a blacklist with credit card company?
