Is anyone else having a problem making a FR donation? Everything checks out fine on my end, but FR keeps saying my card is being declined. I chatted with an Account Rep for my credit card. She says my card is fine. Thanks for any help with this.
I have had the same problem numerous times. My account people cannot explain why.
I would still say it is your CC company. They are the ones declining it to FR.
Same thing just happened to me.
I have NOT had this problem. My card is issued by a credit union. Maybe that makes a difference.
Give me your card number and i’ll try making some purchases somewhere else. Maybe it’s just you?
I donated last week. One issue is that the card address has to be precisely what you have listed via the credit organization. Not one digit or extra letter. I sometimes goof up on ‘county road’ and use ‘cty road’, which would make it declined.
Just use your billpay to send check to Jim. Then he gets 100% of it. Why give a third party a penny.
There was a discussion about this on FR over a year ago. I found the donations showing up with a tag for Firearms. It could be your credit card company, or the processor is doing, or seeing the same and not allowing firearms transactions.
Get used to it. Even if this is some kind of mistake, the Leftist totalitarians in charge are not going to tolerate financing dissent, even if they are forced to ‘allow’ it.
Probably if the site he was donating to was Muh Democracy there would be no issue with it.
With that situation, is there some way to make a donation anonymously, like a postal money order?
Or some other way or paying cash for a money order or something and then mailing it in?

I tested my Card with a donation at Judicial Watch.
My Card works perfectly.
The charge decline issue is with the Free Republic website.
Same thing happened to me a few months ago. Try again tomorrow, it will probably work then.

I tried my card at Judicial Watch, and it works fine.
I assume Hard Left fanatics are always trying to hack into Free Republic, so I always get uneasy when something goes wrong with a donation here.
Years ago this issue came up credit card payment to FR.
I went to an auto payment for my monthly FR pledge.
It is still be honored by my bank.
