As more and more time has passed, I have become more and more convinced that the government misleads the American people.
I experienced this a little bit first hand when I worked for the government. I was just a lowly Congressional Aide and I was privy to things that were not common knowledge. Multiply that by the millions of Federal workers, hundreds of thousands of which have security clearances, and it boggles the mind.
Of the stuff I do know, most government “lies” are misdirection. Take the moon landing for example.
People think the “lie” is that we didn’t go to the moon. That is the cover lie that is easy to discredit. The “real” lie is that we saw or discovered something on the moon that NASA does not want to share with the general public. There is a fair amount of evidence for that - missing tapes, audio on secondary medical channels, retouched photos, change in personality of returning astronauts, etc. Better to hide this lie in the outrageous lie that we never went.
The JFK assassination is a case of a school of red herrings. There are so many lies, so many false leads, so many rabbit holes, that we will probably never know the truth. Was it a lone gunman, three gunmen, the CIA, the FBI, the Mafia, a foreign power, LBJ, a combination of any of these? Was he really killed? Why was he killed? Our intelligence agencies have so muddied the waters - in my opinion to protect themselves - that these questions will never get answered.
As for 9/11...I used to scoff at the idea of an inside job. I am less sure these days. I still don’t buy that we totally did it to ourselves. Did we know it was coming and let it happen? Maybe.
When did we stop trusting our government? At least as far back as the Lincoln assassination. That had the stink of coverup all over it. Political corruption in general goes back even further.
Really, when corruptible people are involved, and they always are, one would be a fool to trust government officials.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.”
Commies aren't the only totalitarian groups trying to destroy our country... much of this list sounds like the current WOKE sections of the Democrat Party and Deep State.
Flynn was also the Commander/Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, of which I am an alumni. I know what the DIA knows. It is a LOT.
He knew whatever he wanted to know. He was no mushroom kept in the dark.
That’s fine. You got red-pilled (if you ever needed it) in a different and probably less painful fashion than General Flynn did.
People undergo this metamorphosis in different ways.
One of the most rock-solid, staunch conservatives out there, was as far left as 99% of the American public could have ever gone in 1969, was David Horowitz. He was an administrator/legal counsel for the Black Panthers.
He got red-pilled in one of the most horrible ways, by having a co-worker raped and murdered by the Black Panthers because “she knew too much”.
And he knew in his heart that they had done it, though they never admitted it to him. They raped her and then murdered her to make it look like a violent rape, and not an assassination of a colleague.
That was the fissure that widened into a chasm for him, and it took him the better part of ten years to make that journey from the farthest Left to the farthest right, but in the end, he made it when he voted for the first time in his life for a Republican, Ronald Reagan.
I respect David Horowitz, don’t question his motives, and would shake his hand if I ever had the chance. And David Horowitz is no moron.
Same with General Flynn. He was a military man first, an American second, a Christian third, and somewhere down the line, he was a Democrat.
He was persecuted and destroyed by an ideological Deep State because he was a threat to them and they knew it. He was targeted because he spoke out publicly against Obama’s Iran Nuclear Deal.
You or I could easily be targeted in just that same fashion.
I suggest we take our allies where we can find them.
In the case of General Flynn, if you want to throw out the “baby” of his current understanding of intelligence and the nature of the Deep State because of the “bath water” of his being a Democrat in the past, I cannot do anything about that except to disagree with you, as I view it as a cutting of the nose to spite a face.
But that is my opinion. You are welcome to yours.

Even if one doesn’t agree with the conspiracy theorists, the offical story has such flaws in it that NO ONE, in their right mind, can sit there and accept the official story as-is. I am not a 9/11 truther or anything but a 3rd grader would know that there are problems with the official story.

I recall one of the main USA news anchors saying something like “This just in - one of the towers has just collapsed!”...
He then looks up at the video feed and both towers are still shown standing there.
“Um - okay. Obviously this report is wrong as there they are.”
It wasn’t 20 minutes I don’t think - but 5 to 10 minutes later perhaps when the first one did collapse. Much longer than any delay in video would be, even if they had it delayed so they could block something too graphic.
I imagine the report from the field got garbled. It may have started off as “One of the towers may collapse.” ... “They are moving people away from the area.”

If you stop using the word “we” and get a lot more detailed you have a better chance at figuring out the mystery.

I know the other poster disagrees with me, but I am of the opinion-we need all the allies on our side we can get.
And those people who have been persecuted by their own “ideological allies” have their eyes opened in a way that people like me, who have never swam in those leftist waters, never can.
Being branded an “apostate” and being pursued, tortured, persecuted, and punished for it, changes a person into a dedicated, implacable foe, one who will never stop, never relent, never forgive, one who will never renege on that conversion.
Personally, I want General Flynn back.
I want him back as DNI in a Trump Administration.
I want him back with a grudge.
I want him back with an axe to grind.
He is no dummy, and I think he would be one of those “implacable foes” who knows where the bodies are buried, and won’t be stopped.
And while I am at it, I want Kash Patel as Attorney General.
This is why I am feeling very upbeat about a future Trump administration.
It will have tried and tested warriors—who know who the enemy is and how to fight them.
I never, ever believed that a US Navy cruiser shot down TWA Flight 800.
I thought it would be too much of a conspiracy. Too many people, people like me, sailors who served and did a job, to keep quiet.
Just never believed that an Aegis cruiser could intentionally shoot an airliner down off the coast of the United States.

I rule nothing out.
Same with 9/11. I will rule nothing out.

Our “existential threat” (a term Leftists adore using, but they have absolutely zero understanding of what a REAL “existential threat” is) right NOW are THREE things:
1.). Our open border
2.) Our uncontrolled spending
3.) Our broken electoral system
Those three things are it right there. It isn’t the asinine fighting in Ukraine. It isn’t the pending takeover of Taiwan by the Chicoms. It isn’t money to Israel.
It is THOSE THREE THINGS.
Those three things are going to destroy this country I love, and when it comes, it is going to come quickly. And we won’t be able to stop it once it begins.
THOSE are the “existential threats” to this Republic.
So, if Trump is looking at four years to do nothing...I don’t want him, and we will be lost. He may not be able to do anything. But for sure, there is NO OTHER CANDIDATE WHO WILL. So, it is him, or nobody.
If he gets all ga-ga over Bud Light, or whatever, I don’t care. It is window dressing right now, and if that is the main focus of people, then they don’t have two cold brain cells to rub together.
I don’t know what happened with TWA 800—except I am absolutely certain that the official government explanation is a lie.
There were dozens of witnesses on Long Island who saw a missile hit the plane.
I believe them.
I have no idea where the missile came from....
