Amid all of the online squabbling over whether the relationship between singer Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is getting too much attention from the media and from NFL broadcasters, I held my tongue.
Whenever I felt the need to speak up or to voice an opinion on the matter, I looked at the silicone wristband I wear to remind me of whose opinion really matters.
No, my wristband doesn’t say WWJD, as it does for most Christians. I look to a higher power. WWLCD: What would Liz Cheney do?
And finally, at long last, the oracle of Wyoming has spoken. Her words? “Taylor Swift is a national treasure.”
For those of you who are unaware: Conservatives and/or those who want to watch a football game without constant cutaway shots to a cheering pop star in a luxury box during Chiefs games have been critical of the attention lavished on the liberal Swift and her current future ex-boyfriend, Kelce.
This has even led to what The Hill described as “conspiracy theories” among online conservatives and “speculation that the NFL is fixing games so that Swift and boyfriend Travis Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, can go to the Super Bowl and win it, and endorse President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign while at the championship football game.”

I’m rooting for Kansas City. The 49ers are an arch rival to the Sea Hawks, who we support in the Northwest.
Swift has had a lot of “limelight” boyfriends. Will Kelce be any different? Who knows.
I wonder if the Swiftie followers realize how close Taylor’s choice to lead the nation is bringing them to reinstatement of the military draft?

When it comes to the Super Bowl, there's a lot of VIPs and there's only so many seats that can be given away. And just because you have a loved one playing the Big Game, doesn't mean you're gonna get a free ticket.
This being said, it's not lost on NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell what Taylor Swift has done to the ratings this season and undoubtedly, she will enjoy one of those million dollar suites mentioned in the article.

What time is the game THIS weekend?
I’m not anti-Swift nor do I follow football (or sports) but I jokingly told my sports-fan friend “I’ll watch the game that Taylor isn’t going to be at.” - 49ers vs. Lions — It ended up being a REALLY good game! Found out that the SF quarterback is a devout Christian who leads prayers before the games including with members of opposing team. Now I am excited for the Superbowl and rooting for the 49ers.
