NOT…
And a Bowie knife too. Don’t forget the Bowie knife. And flex cuffs…
It’s so nice here I stopped carrying.
A 14+1 double stack works well.
“Having and not needing rather than needing and not having.”
This is the essence of the issue IMO. Particularly when carrying the spare, in most cases, costs nothing in terms of extra time, effort, or risk to the overall concealment. I clip mine on when putting on a holster. Takes a few extra seconds.
NV goggles too?
[[Therefore, it is impossible to suggest the right thing to do here]]
No it isnt- the advice is to not be an idiot, carry reloads- they don’t weigh enough to be of real concern, and are small enough to not get in the way.
It’s gonna suck being out of ammo because of an Intense stressful situation where some gang is firing and you are caught in the middle, or your hkuse has been invaded by armed flash mobs (as is happening more and more), but have run out because you didn’t carry a reload or have them nearby where you can easily get to them. If you never ever need that many, great, but if you should ever need more, and not have more, then that will be a helpless feeling noone wants to go through. You ain5 gonna be able to say “no fair man, I’m out of ammo” to the bad guys
Here’s to hoping you never need to reload, but will be able to do so if the need arises to save either yourself, you others around you. I hope israel has learned from its massive mistake of banning firearms for civilians! Had several of the folks been armed, the outcome would have been much different
My model 10 has the solution to both of those problems built right in.
I have four magazines each for my firearms.
If I’m packin, I’m stackin

The second picture is what my State thinks it is.
Mags are the “achilles heal” of semi automatic firearms.
Saves time on reloading and should you really need more range time because you missed that much, the extra mag can be a life saver.
I’ve wondered about this. Most of us think in terms of a single encounter with a criminal. With what’s entering our country, we might want to consider being in a situation where there are multiple aggressors. In which case, you might want to have re-load capability.
Not practical in the real world just use a high capacity firearm or extended mag with target practice if needed
When the mobs of deer stampede, 30-round mags will be a essential tool for survival...
What can it hurt to carry a spare mag? Yes, odds are you’ll never need it but how many broke bettors do you know who always play the odds? I’ve taken to wearing light weight pants with zippered pockets down both legs. My wallet goes down the right side which frees me from sitting on it and is zipped. And my extra mag goes in the left leg with the zipper unzipped for quick access. Works for me.
Getting killed for lack of shooting back is just plain embarrassing.

Except when they do.
No one EVER, in the history of the world, has ever said, "Oh, I wish I had less ammo, that would solve my problem."
It just does not happen.
I carry a spare because sometimes the primary gets messed up when I hammer a Wanted poster to the town bulletin board.
