I see that a lot. Fairly new 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. I look at the undercarriage and they are very clean. Urban cowboys.
A lot of the price inflation for ICE vehicles is caused by losses on EV sales. Every major car maker LOSES money on each EV sold. They just cost shift to ICE buyers.
Don’t forget sales tax.

Larry Miller Ford Salt Lake City has 127 F150’s - 95 on the lot and 32 in transit. Of those 127 only 5 are 2024, and they are in transit.
Nice ! i checked out that 2023 f-150 xlt 4x4. i wonder whats wrong with it that they cut the price in 1/2!

I bought my two-story house for 49,000.
Just a thought: someday you may have to move into an assisted living facility or nursing home and you’ll want to have money in the bank for your buy-in. They’ll take your home and car. Everyone including your loving adult kids and your religious institution will try to separate you from your cash along the way. Pay yourself first. Keep things in perspective.
And GM is laying off 1300 employees this month.

I’m a retired project manager for automation companies.
I installed stuff for the big 3.
Labor is a very small portion of the cost of manufacturing.
Engineering, equipment and space are the second largest cost.
The single most expensive cost is complying with federal and state regulations.
New pollution controls for a paint shop is over half a billion dollars...
That’s BILLION, with a B.
And the plants are not run by management or the union.
The plants are run by the safety committee.
Every time I log into my bank account I get an ad saying I can lower my car paymennt by refinancing my car loan. Thankfully I have no car loan, paid cash for my bike.
So you got a car that’s underwater already and they want you to refinance at full term at what is likely a higher interest rate. Talk about digging that hole deeper and faster.
And the bank? what is with them? They want to loan you more than the car is worth?
You see it everywhere. The people who’s job it to say no are in charge.
That’s awesome.
Nailed it. I guess as long as you’re making the payments they will keep tapping that interest.
