A federal appeals court on Friday ruled that Trump does not have immunity from January 6 civil lawsuits.
Earlier this year, Joe Biden’s Justice Department said in a court filing in the DC US Court of Appeals that Donald Trump can be sued by police officers over January 6.
The DOJ lawyers argued that Trump does not have immunity from civil lawsuits by police officers.
US District Judge Amit Mehta, an Obama appointee earlier this year rejected Trump’s immunity claim.

So there is precedent for allowing civil suits against a Democratic president for actions not in the line of duty. Clinton clearly wasn't.
The opinion also says that Trump has other ways of showing that his speech was in the line of duty as president (as opposed to as a candidate) that haven't been raised and decided yet.

Removing Federal judges through Impeachment is near impossible. Congress can , however , dissolve all the lower courts and replace them with something else. I suggest 50 lower courts , one for each state . Each state would determine who gets picked (or removed!) and all decisions would only be in effect for the state in which the judge sits .

The improbability of removal didn’t dissuade democrats from impeaching Trump. The tarnish of impeachment was enough. But I agree that the districts need amending.

All of these cases against Trump will eventually be decided by only one court... The Supreme Court of the United States.
And they will throw out every conviction that’s made and every case that’s brought against this former President. If they don’t, then all future and even former Presidents will be hamstrung by vindictive opponents from the political party that lost.
Or the Benghazi guys who begged for help? Maybe they can sue Hillary? Or maybe Obama?

but Pelosi and Schumer, the ones charged with security at the Capitol have immunity. This just shows how screwed up DC is. Let’s see how the Supremes rule on this one.
Clinton’s Paula Jones disposition was for an act committed prior to his becoming President. Trump was President on Jan. 6, 2021. Case history is on his side that he can not be sued for anything that may be loosely considered an official act of his office. This will be overturned on appeal.
