ESPN sideline reporter and former Trinidad and Tobago goalkeeper Shaka Hislop startled viewers by fainting in the middle of an on-air report at Sunday's Milan-Real Madrid friendly in Pasadena, California.
The 54-year-old began wobbling before falling forward into his broadcast partner, Dan Thomas, sparking immediate panic on the sideline.
The weather in Pasadena on Sunday was in the mid-80s, according to Accuweather.com, but it's unclear if that played a factor.

Saw it. Looked like he legitimately fainted. Perhaps dehydration and didn’t look like a obvious vaccine drop.

They mentioned the temperature, but 85 in LA is nothing. Today is my parent’s anniversary (RIP to both) and they were wed in 1943 in Albany, GA with no air conditioning. I can’t imagine the heat they endured in SW Georgia in July with dad in his uniform and mom in a heavy wedding dress. Now that’s hot.
Maybe. The only frequent ‘tell’ I’ve seen with most of those is a tendency to stare off to the left just before collapse.
We live down south & I was just saying to a friend who grew up here....I don’t know how they did it back in the day. It’s almost beyond imagining.
As much as I love the south, the heat and humidity in the summer is stifling. As often as I visited Albany growing up (and lived there for a short time) I never got use to it. When I lived in Los Angeles, it was great. I didn’t even have an air conditioner, but I didn’t live in the valley which requires one.
Before AC was developed there were swamp coolers... I guess before those it was a trip to the river or lake.., people managed.

Albany Georgia in July 1943 had 4 days between 87-89…25 days between 90-99, and 2 days between 100-103.
Shaka Hislop is the real deal. He was a player at the top levels and is a terrific analyst. I watch him on ESPN FC often. He’s insightful and brings a lot to the show. He’s also pleasant and humorous.
I wish him the best for a full recovery.
Maybe he just fell asleep standing up. It is soccer after all. Maybe it’s good for insomnia.

I remember the 1960s...my grand-dad’s old house...window fan to bring cool evening air. Shade tree over the porch. No AC. Always a pitcher of lemonade made up.
People act like 100 degrees is the end of the world now.
Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s POTS (Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome).
There’s been a huge spike in POTS cases since COVID came to town.
I was diagnosed with it this year. Feels like a heart attack. Pretty dang horrible condition. Just like him, I dropped like a rock.
Never vaxxed, but had COVID early 1.2020 and have been paying for it ever since.
