Chris Christie Suffers Total Meltdown over Trump Wanting to Skip Debates: “It’s Not Fair!”
Daily Fetched ^ | June 23, 2023 | Jason Walsh

Posted on 06/23/2023 7:09:27 AM PDT by Red Badger

2024 GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie went ballistic over President Donald Trump for previously suggesting he may not participate in the GOP primary debates.

During an interview on Fox & Friends, host Brian Kilmeade played a clip from Trump’s recent interview with Bret Baier, where he said he didn’t feel the need to participate in the primary debates because his poll numbers were demolishing other Republican candidates.

“Christie is, I guess, 1% or less. Many of them, Nikki Haley’s is a 2%. So why would I allow people at one and 2% and 0% to be hitting me with questions? You know, I don’t think it’s fair,” Trump said.

Kilmeade asked Chris Christie to respond, who had a total meltdown over the prospect of Trump not taking part in the debates.

“Oh, it’s not fair, Brian. It’s not fair.” Christie snapped.

“Poor Donald Trump,” he added.

Christie went on to mock Trump as “the guy who wants to be president of the United States, the guy who says that he’s the toughest person to lead this country, doesn’t want to get up in front of Republican primary voters and defend his record and make a case for the future of America.”

“Look, every Republican primary voter should have the opportunity to see all those people who qualify up on the stage debating with each other,” he continued before plugging his website for donations.

“He can’t avoid this, Brian. It’s not fair to the Republican Party voters,” he said.

“I think it’s disrespectful. He thinks he should just default to the nomination. I don’t think so. And I believe that everyone should have the right to get up there and debate who qualifies under the rules,” Christie added.

“And Donald Trump has an obligation to be up there and do it. And by the way, I think he will debate Bryan. I don’t think you’ll be able to stay away.”

This isn’t the first time Christie has had a meltdown over Trump.

024 GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie suffered a meltdown when Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer praised former President Donald Trump

During an interview on “America’s Newsroom” earlier this month, Fox host Hemmer noted Trump is “crushing it” in the polls, leading him to ask if voters actually want a Trump critic like Chris Christie in the Republican primary.

Christie, a “Trump critic,” did not handle this well.

After trying to shrug off Trump, Christie turned his attention to President Joe Biden, which led to Hemmer bringing up the border,

Then Hemmer noted that Trump’s policies “did much better on everything you just mentioned.”

Christie couldn’t handle it.

“Wait a second, Bill. His policies did not do better at the border. Not true,” Christie retorted.

“Remember what he promised in 2016? He was going to build a wall across the entire border in the first four years, and Mexico was going to pay for it. We got a wall that’s about a quarter of the way done, and Mexico hasn’t given us one peso yet.” he said.

“So Donald Trump in 2016 was the guy who had no record, so he couldn’t be examined in a very specific way. He now said he was going to do that with immigration. And by the way, he had Congress for the first two years fully controlled by the Republicans. Not one change in the immigration laws,” Christie added,

“You can go down to the border today and see piles of steel that are just laying there in the Arizona desert,” Hemmer said.

“Those piles of steel have been sitting there since Donald Trump was president,” Christie shot back.

Asking why Trump kept the documents is a “gotcha” question? Your bar is set incredibly low.

Isn’t that something you would think people would want to know?

I think Trump’s answer was weak as hell, but at least we heard it. You don’t want to know that stuff?

Yeah, it is.

But it’s fun when you don’t like someone. I’ve had fat and ugly people I love, but I don’t make fun of them. But those I don’t like…easy.

Yes, it’s childish, but us on a forum or talking to our pals is not nearly as bad as certain famous businessmen politicos doing the same thing in public over a microphone.

In the end, the country will get their information from these hyperbolic bloggers and not from their own eyes and ears. That is a bad and sad thing.

***********

The American Media has brought this on itself.

Instead of being a neutral party, the New Left that materialized after the late 1960’s liberal cultural revolution, likes playing “gotcha” to Republicans candidates, while protecting their democrat buddies.

In this rigged media environment: Why even have a two party system?

I saw at least half of it. It was cringe-worthy. As a couple which has been with classified most of our adult lives, it begs all kinds of questions.

That was my point. Trump will lose the general, doesn’t matter if it is rigged or clear.

I stopped finding that stuff funny a long, long time ago.

There are so many other things to poke fun at. For example, his hand holding with Obama right before the election. Bridgegate.

His eating disorder is way down on the list of things not to like about Chris Christie.

But...he knows Trump, and his role as a prosecutor dealing with White collar crime gives his some street cred when it comes to shitting on Trump.

As a former fat guy, I can tell you on a debate stage all Trump needs to do it make a single comment about Christie’s weight and Christie will eviscerate him—Christie has been rebutting fat jokes since puberty. Its cutting, second nature, and it would make Trump look like a 3rd grade bully.

Trump already won the 2024 debates — in November 2016.

Historically, the “neutral” media was only a thing from the Depression through the end of the Cold War.

What is missing is “investigative” journalism. The “Woodward/Bernstein” stuff (no matter what you think of it) cannot happen today because the newspaper staffs are too small and they need words from reporters every single day. Going off on an investigation and having to vet sources takes too much time, too many people, and too much money.

Even on a local level, in a mid sized city, the amount of corruption that goes un-investigated is scary high.

The networks are gutted and rely on the AP for their stories. The AP relies on Twitter. Network writers are kids who simply rewrite twitter feeds. The reporters on TV rarely, if ever, write their own stuff. All you need to do is watch them “shuck and jive” during an emergency and you can see their talent is reading—not reporting.

When you see “Twitter” or “Truth Social” as a source in any story; that is lazy reporting.

The reason its all left leaning is that the journalism schools are left leaning and the people running the networks are accountants, not trained journalists.

Finally, the small truths that DO come out are generally found by people who cannot present them well. Case in point—the Congressman who was releasing the Biden stuff yesterday looked like a rabbi reading from a school paper. He was not exactly forceful, personable, or confidence inspiring. He is probably a nice guy—but he could use some Media training, because he sucked.

Bloggers and You Tubers generally suffer from poor presentation skills, limited audiences, and very poor writing. They could literally discover the cure for cancer, but they come across as mouth breathing conspiracy nuts.

Debates are the ultimate dog and pony show.

I would be for Trump going mano a mano with the little fella.

But the Uniparty will had none of that.

That want Ron to have a posse and gang up on Trump along with the moderator.

The Uniparty is just filling up the debate stage with nothing burgers to run interference for their latest Jeb clone.

Love to see a debate without Trump.

I’d put my money on Vivek in that one.

Out of that field his communication skills and a little more common sense put him above the rest of the pack.

Although I’m not sure if that is much of a complimentary distinction.

I was referring to Brett Baier’s questions in the past. Remember in both 2016 and 2016 Brett Baier, Chris Wallace and the blonde carefully crafted questions to assist the Democrats and/or their preferred pantywaist Republican (in 2012 that was Romney, in 2016, it was Jeb).

I have no problem with candidates being asked ANY questions. But I know how somebody like Baier operates. He (and Wallace when he was still at Fox) coordinated with Bill Sammon (and probably now Paul Ryan) to sandbag conservatives and prop up pantywaists because of their political bias preferring pantywaists.
