2024 GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie went ballistic over President Donald Trump for previously suggesting he may not participate in the GOP primary debates.
During an interview on Fox & Friends, host Brian Kilmeade played a clip from Trump’s recent interview with Bret Baier, where he said he didn’t feel the need to participate in the primary debates because his poll numbers were demolishing other Republican candidates.
“Christie is, I guess, 1% or less. Many of them, Nikki Haley’s is a 2%. So why would I allow people at one and 2% and 0% to be hitting me with questions? You know, I don’t think it’s fair,” Trump said.
Kilmeade asked Chris Christie to respond, who had a total meltdown over the prospect of Trump not taking part in the debates.
“Oh, it’s not fair, Brian. It’s not fair.” Christie snapped.
“Poor Donald Trump,” he added.
Christie went on to mock Trump as “the guy who wants to be president of the United States, the guy who says that he’s the toughest person to lead this country, doesn’t want to get up in front of Republican primary voters and defend his record and make a case for the future of America.”
“Look, every Republican primary voter should have the opportunity to see all those people who qualify up on the stage debating with each other,” he continued before plugging his website for donations.
“He can’t avoid this, Brian. It’s not fair to the Republican Party voters,” he said.
“I think it’s disrespectful. He thinks he should just default to the nomination. I don’t think so. And I believe that everyone should have the right to get up there and debate who qualifies under the rules,” Christie added.
“And Donald Trump has an obligation to be up there and do it. And by the way, I think he will debate Bryan. I don’t think you’ll be able to stay away.”

This isn’t the first time Christie has had a meltdown over Trump.
024 GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie suffered a meltdown when Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer praised former President Donald Trump
During an interview on “America’s Newsroom” earlier this month, Fox host Hemmer noted Trump is “crushing it” in the polls, leading him to ask if voters actually want a Trump critic like Chris Christie in the Republican primary.
Christie, a “Trump critic,” did not handle this well.
After trying to shrug off Trump, Christie turned his attention to President Joe Biden, which led to Hemmer bringing up the border,
Then Hemmer noted that Trump’s policies “did much better on everything you just mentioned.”
Christie couldn’t handle it.
“Wait a second, Bill. His policies did not do better at the border. Not true,” Christie retorted.
“Remember what he promised in 2016? He was going to build a wall across the entire border in the first four years, and Mexico was going to pay for it. We got a wall that’s about a quarter of the way done, and Mexico hasn’t given us one peso yet.” he said.
“So Donald Trump in 2016 was the guy who had no record, so he couldn’t be examined in a very specific way. He now said he was going to do that with immigration. And by the way, he had Congress for the first two years fully controlled by the Republicans. Not one change in the immigration laws,” Christie added,
“You can go down to the border today and see piles of steel that are just laying there in the Arizona desert,” Hemmer said.
“Those piles of steel have been sitting there since Donald Trump was president,” Christie shot back.

For Chris, saying awful things about the other dull and RINO sludge running for 2024 gets him zero attention. Saying awful things about Trump gets him on TV and interviews like this one with RINO Kilmeade.
Christie is a true attention hawg in personality and a definite hawg in body.
All the different candidates on the GOP side is meant for one thing, and that is to fracture the party into disparate groups and leave Trump without a core of support.
You’ve got white men, black men, women, Hispanics, children of immigrants, Southerners, Northerners, Religious, and no telling what else.
It’s all one big scam to get Trump out of the running....................
Folks,
eyes on the ball. I think Trump would debate, look at his history. Trump loves a good debate. That is what this is.
What Trump is doing here is getting people to react and reveal their hears, what they are really about.
Isn't this what cookbooks call "rendering fat?"

Maybe Christie was hoping for a rematch, he didn’t do well in the first one and his approach in the second is rather predictable. Oh well, he’ll have to figure something else out.
The Jersey Cow has spoken. Bless his heart.
Bull.................
12 seconds.
Debates are stupid anyway, they are run by the MSM to make Republicans look bad.
Christie was a Federal Prosecutor early on, before being New Jersey Governor.
I wonder what his record was?................
Chris Christie is the George Costanza of Politics................
Give 3 dozen donuts. He’ll be fine.
PRESIDENT TRUMP should do the debates his way by hosting his own forum on another venue and commenting on his opponents and the commentators as they speak.
Who would watch the MSM circus??? All eyes and ears would be on the DONALD. This would be HUGE!
Like minds...;O)
Anyone that knows Trump ‘at all’....knows that Trump just threw that out there ....that he “might not” participate in the debates” .... just to taunt the idiots that would jump on the red meat and gnaw away....keeping them occupied.
And natch, Christie took the bait and frothed over it. Trump wouldn’t miss an opportunity to debate the very people he has been dissing. It’s just not in his nature.
The guy is a disgrace as well as a fluent liar. The lies about the border during the Trump Presidency should have lighted his pants on fire.
Meltdown? Another exaggerated headline. It was a disagreement.
