Hey, folks. A culmination of sad events leads me to asking for help. A few months ago my landlord asked us to move out. It wasn't an issue with the rent. We haven't been late in years. He wants us out so he can remodel the house and charge more than twice what we're paying now.
Well we fond a little house that we could afford. But after rent, deposit, pet deposit and renting a U-Haul, there wasn't enough to hire movers. No problem. My son, Andrew, said he and his roommate, Will, could move us. (My wife and I are both disabled and would be less than useless at helping with the move.)
Then came the event that has broken us all. Two weeks ago, Andrew awoke to the feeling of his heart racing. My daughter took him to the hospital and he was admitted to the Cardiac ICU. He was there for a week during which time they found him once slumped over and unresponsive. They got him back. After a week in CICU he had improved enough that he was moved to a regular room Were he was then treated for pneumonia. After 15 days in the hospital, he was allowed to come home last Thursday afternoon. They sent him home with an oxygen concentrator. He said he was still feeling pretty weak and he went to bed.
Yesterday, at abou8t 8:00 am, Andrew's roommate found him slumped over in his bed again. He was gone. He was only 42. He was my first-born. My wife, younger son, daughter and I are beside ourselves with grief. Andrew's roommate, Will, is putting up a brave face, but we can tell that he is hurting, too.
So all that to ask if there are 2 or 3 Freepers with pick-ups in the Sapulpa, OK area who might be able to help Will get us into our new place. I can't afford to pay any more than pizza and pop when everything is done. I wouldn't ask but my wife is taking this worse than any of us and she just wants to get away from the painful memories.
God bless you and your wife. I’m so sorry for all you’re going through but especially the death of your son. There is no deeper hurt.
Hugs from Virginia. Please share your GiveSendGo link so we can add our support.
i noticed that the last time you posted here prior to your LATEST tale of woe was on 4/14/2017:

and i say “latest”, because you posted the following on 8/17/2016”
“Please help! I need a job in the Tulsa area immediately! In danger of being homeless by sept. 8th!”
and then there are these even earlier:

My wife has been hospitalized for some time. She has wanted her own laptop for some time. I recently receive a bonus from work and I’d like to get the laptop for her. Can anyone direct me to a new Dell or maybe HP, 15” pink laptop, preferably under $500?

Okay, so this is a vanity thread. We need people! My company is hiring as many people as possible in the Tulsa and Houston areas. We are an engineering firm in the oil drilling industry. Freep mail me and I’ll give you the e-mail addy for our HR department.
I have an old Dell Inspiron 7500. It has Windows 2000 OS. I’d like to format the hard drive, but the LG DRN-8080B DVD-ROM win’t read software discs. It also won’t read music CD’s, but it will play DVD’s. Has anyone else encoutered this problem? I’ve searched the web like mad for a driver, but no one seems to have what I need. Suggestions?

Very true! Never thought of that...could be a great way to unload that unwanted decor/stuff :)
So sorry for your loss.
My first thought was some people just don’t post much. My second thought was I really don’t post much. My third thought was to look back at my own posts. The closest I came to asking anyone here for anything was to suggest donations to FR. I certainly have had my share of tough times and I also would gladly help anyone in need. Lesson: Help people you know not strangers on the internet.
So sorry for your loss. Adding you and yours to my prayer list.
May the soul of Andrew rest in peace, and may Perpetual Light shine upon him.
May I suggest that you post your request to the FR message board for your state?
Agree. Talk to the elders at church and ask for help. They will help you.
Sadly I am in SC but would otherwise.
I had my heart adventure with clots from nowhere a couple of Octobers ago.
They told me I cut it close.
I can’t imagine what your son went through.
Good suggestion.
Usually people will help.
The church crowd looked after me and my wife after my lung clot debacle and nearly fatal diverticulitis surgery disaster.
We didn’t need much and I guess I am a bit too proud to ask for anything.
Post your request on your OK message board
Glad to chip in as well.
Well that makes me go....hummmmmm.
I hadn’t thought of that. thank you
Can the mod edit the title of this thread to include your general location? That may help you to get the attention of freepers in your area.
Lord have mercy!
I am so sorry about this terrible bunch of events!
God bless you all in your grief, and in this harried mess.
I’m sorry, cant help being east coast. But had to offer sympathy and prayers.
Excellent suggestion.
Wish I lived in OK. I’d help. Good luck finding a FRiend.
Oh my God! I’M GOING THROUGH THE EXACT SAME THING!
I’m in Arkansas though. Got 30 days to move. Luckily, I prepared. I could see the writing on the wall.
I agree Lazamataz...
Go onto Nextdoor.com and put out a plea to those in your area. ESPECIALLY churches.
If you have a Calvary Chapel in your area I know they have hearts of gold and would come along side you. If at all possible go to the church in person. Or call and have the pastor come to your home.
I am so sorry for the loss of your son.
