Americans in their right mind would not be police officers in an ultraliberal state like Illinois. A complete foreigner who knows nothing about liberal culture may be the ideal police officer. They may occasionally do the right thing, which might never occur to a lifelong denizen of Chicago. Yes, they will be prosecuted and imprisoned for doing the right thing. But they are rootless foreigners, who cares? /S
I would not take orders from noncitizens. A policeman would therefore need to prove their citizenship to me before I would comply in ILL should they do this.

OK, I know this is going to get me a lot of hate; not from you per say, but in general. Why shouldn’t non-citizens be allowed to be police officers? If they are here legally and take their oath to uphold the law and Constitution seriously, why not? I’d rather have a non-citizen who is Constitutional minded upholding the law than some LEO who is a citizen and on a power trip violating people’s right willy-nilly. I support LEO, so don’t pretend it doesn’t happen, we all know it does.
It falls in to the category of foreign members of the military. If their allegiance is where it is supposed to be, they are doing the job the way it’s supposed to be done and they weren’t placed there as some sort of quota system, where is the problem?

I have traveled to Romania and The Dominican Republic. YOU KNOW WHAT You can Take the Girl out of the COUNTRY, BUT you can’t talk the COUNTRY out of the Girl. I still THINK and ACT like an AMERICAN!
