Hello Americans, I’m Todd Starnes. Stand by for news and commentary next.
Sesame Street has gone gay, America.
No, it’s not Bert and Ernie. It’s the entire street.
“Happy pride,” Elmo declared in a video posted to Twitter.
Producers of the beloved children’s program also posted a Twitter message calling for children to celebrate diversity and unity and to spread love and acceptance.
“Elmo and I wanted to share that everyone is always welcome on Sesame Street,” said Ariana DuBose. “This month and every month, we want to uplift and celebrate our LGBTQIA+ family, friends and communities.”
The message was accompanied by a cartoon drawing of multiple characters holding hands.
Twitter users were quick to pounce – pointing out that Sesame Street is for preschoolers – very young children.
So why are the producers introducing a sexual agenda to four-year-olds?
It’s not the first time Sesame Street has been used to push an agenda. Last year, the makers of the children’s program had to release a statement pushing back over allegations Ernie and Bert were gay.
“As we have always said, Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves. Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics (as most Sesame Street Muppets do), they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation.”
In 2020 – cross-dressing actor Billy Porter was a guest on the program and in a Family Day episode – Sesame Street introduced a gay couple.
One irate parent blasted public television.
“Perverts and pedophiles approve this message for children,” the dad wrote. “Why are we discussing anyone’s sexuality on Sesame Street?”
However, there was quite a bit of support for the children’s program — many thanking the muppets for embracing homosexuality.
“Sesame Street has always stood up for those being discriminated against, those whose rights are being violated, and whose freedoms are being impeded. Sesame Street is what real America stands for! Equality for all,” one defender wrote. “Thank you for always being inclusive to all.”
Don’t surprised if the Sesame Street word of the day is “groomer.”
Pay attention to what your kids are watching on television, America.
I’d like to see them include a character w/a MAGA hat.
I’d like to see them include a character w/a AR-15...................
Naturally. All that support came from the homos & lesbians who need to capture kids for their evil carnal pleasure.
So Bert and Ernie aren’t gay?! Liars! I always knew they were, sarc.
Over the years I’ve heard stories about Bert & Ernie, Gilligan, Bugs Bunny and maybe one or two others, who are supposed to be gay. Who comes up with this crap and how do they know?
The guy who did Elmo was a huge 300# gay black man
Introducing the idea some kids have two parental figures of the same gender is just acknowledging reality in 2023. I think using the latest iteration of the alphabet soup introduces concepts about gender and sexuality that adults can’t process. That’s not really appropriate for preschoolers. Many in the LGB group are pushing back against the expansion and hijacking of their identities, communities and celebrations.
Big Bird is totally gay.
Gilligan wouldn’t surprise me but I think that’s a modern distortion of the buddy relationship between him and the skipper. I haven’t seen many episodes of that show.
I’ve heard Bert and Ernie have shared a bed. I don’t really know Sesame Street well enough to speak to their characterization.
Knew Carol Spivey! Great guy. Nice family. He lived at a resort in Woodstock, Connecticut and every Sunday, he paid for ice cream Sundaes for the resorts’ guests.
Who is Carol Spivey?
“Bugs Bunny”
Well, Bugs Bunny did put on a dress, a wig, and lipstick from time to time... maybe he was just doing it to fool Elmer, but you never know.
Not with MaryAnn on the island!!
Too many ignorant fools thinking too much of themselves as though they have been there and done that. “Gilligan” was supposed to be just a kid, maybe 17 or 18...Bugs Bunny was just cartoon, so come on, let’s not get carried away!
