Now you know exactly why Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had to launch without any public appearances in his home state, and run away from the state of Florida immediately thereafter. This doesn’t take any commentary to understand.
President Trump is beating Ron DeSantis in the state that knows the Florida Governor best.
This should be embarrassing for Ron and Jill ‘Casey’ DeSantis, but their hubris will just ignore it.
Floridians see they were conned by Ron Desantis in 2022. The backlash is everywhere.
We will see how it plays out. At this point in 2008 Hilary had the nomination sewn up too. It’s early and a lot can happen. (And polls are notoriously inaccurate anyway. )

Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis is attacking former President Donald Trump for “turning the country over to [Dr. Anthony] Fauci in March 2020” but DeSantis was praising the chief public health official at the same time in previously unreported quotes, saying Fauci was “really, really good and really, really helpful” and “really doing a good job.”
###
“You have a lot of people there who are working very, very hard, and they’re not getting a lot of sleep,” DeSantis said on March 25, 2020, at a briefing on Florida’s response. “And they’re really focusing on a big country that we have. And from Dr. Birx to Dr. Fauci to the vice president who’s worked very hard, the surgeon general, they’re really doing a good job. It’s a tough, tough situation, but they’re working hard.”
My apologies. It wasn’t till later that summer that he took the lead. Once he had the lead, he never relinquished it. You might be able to find an outlier poll here or there if you want to quibble (which is one of your favorite past times), but no one seriously challenged Trump once he took the lead.
This is a good point... he’s trying to find a message that resonates and a path forward.
he certainly has raised enough money to stay in, but so did Jeb.
[You’re as delusional about Republican primary as you are about the war in Ukraine. Neocons simply don’t live in the real world.
Trump with in weeks after he announced.]
DeSantis isn’t Trump. He doesn’t have $60m of his own cash to throw at the election, the name recognition from a popular game show and a media completely in the tank for him, at least for the GOP primaries, both in 2016 *and* 2024. DeSantis has to gradually spend the money he has. And that’s OK. He’s a pretty systematic planner. That’s how he drew level with Adam Putnam, who came from a long line of politicos, even before Trump endorsed him, once it became clear he would defeat Putnam.
Golden Eagle, I gave you too much credit. I should have known better than to assume you were sharing a reputable poll with me. I see now that it’s an MSNBC poll from June of 2015. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel!
Is that an argument of some kind?
Alternative interpretation: former President with 100% name recognition can barely break 50% in a deep red state.
Is there anyone in that poll who doesn’t know who DeSantis is? It’s Florida we’re talking about and he’s the Governor of Florida.
Yes, more lies from you.
Of course desantis doesn’t have $60 million of his own cash to throw at the election. He and the superpac have something like $110 million from big donors already, and plan on using $200 million in donations for just the early part of desanti campaign.
And this impression of desantis doesn’t have the money is the lie and spin this poster wants to put out.
It’s not going to be desantis’ money, it’s the rich hedge funds and billionaires that are funding desantis.
There’s nothing in that article that indicates that DeSantis had drawn even with Putnam at the time of its writing. But there is this interesting tidbit that indicates DeSantis’s campaign strategy. He consciously aligned himself with Trump and used that as a major selling point throughout the campaign.
From the article:
In March, the DeSantis campaign conducted a poll asking likely primary voters to choose between two unnamed candidates.
Either: “A Navy veteran who served alongside special operations troops in Iraq and Guantanamo Bay. He is the top conservative in Florida, endorsed by President Trump, and is running to take on the corrupt establishment in Tallahassee.”
Or: “A Florida First conservative leader his entire life. He was one of the youngest people ever elected to Congress and has a proven record of standing up for conservative principles. He’s running for governor to continue his fight for liberty and conservative values.”
Fifty-five percent went with the first one and 29 percent the second.
[It’s not going to be desantis’ money, it’s the rich hedge funds and billionaires that are funding desantis.]
It was a big sum for a 63-year-old battling cancer and living in Kansas City on less than $1,000 per month. But that single contribution — federal records show it was his first ever — quickly multiplied. Another $500 was withdrawn the next day, then $500 the next week and every week through mid-October, without his knowledge — until Mr. Blatt’s bank account had been depleted and frozen. When his utility and rent payments bounced, he called his brother, Russell, for help.
What the Blatts soon discovered was $3,000 in withdrawals by the Trump campaign in less than 30 days. They called their bank and said they thought they were victims of fraud.
“It felt,” Russell said, “like it was a scam.”
But what the Blatts believed was duplicity was actually an intentional scheme to boost revenues by the Trump campaign and the for-profit company that processed its online donations, WinRed. Facing a cash crunch and getting badly outspent by the Democrats, the campaign had begun last September to set up recurring donations by default for online donors, for every week until the election.]
If you watch what they do, they follow the playbook the left uses when they can't defend their arguements or positions
And that's to
lie and mis-direct the arguement, and go off on tangents,
change the subject,
start moving the goal post,
and finally, they start doing personal attacks
Here, the poster doesn't even acknowledge that desanti is going to be using donations and campaign contributions from big money hedgefunds and billionaires.
Instead, the poster wants to distract you and make it about Trump.
The fact is, desantis will be a puppet for the swampy rino GOPe and big money.
Baris has been THE most accurate pollster since 2014.
Nope! That's not what the polls show. Trump actually increases his lead slightly in a head to head with DeSantis.
A lot of infiltration by paid shills, trolls... I’ve noticed an up tick since a little over a year ago.
America First! That’s where my vote is going, and only President Trump has governed and is currently running on that platform. The GOP establishment can go to hell.
And this "Sundance", the author, is a leading Trump cultist, fabricating stories about DeSantis without offering any factual backup.
Sundance is tryng to be Trump's next spokesperson or press secretary by climbing up his posterior as deep as possible.Anytime you see a story posted by this "Sundance" you know it will be Trump love and DeSantis hate.
It is not journalism in any way.
All those DeSantis donors are former Trump donors.
It is interesting that you try to imply Trump did not take big money. That is a LIE you cultists attempt to tell when the truth is that Trump took big money like any other candidate and from the same people who are now backing DeSantis.
Stormy? Is that you?
