All Quiet On The Default Front As Biden Dithers The Night Away And Regional Bank Stocks Decline On Fed Tightening
Confounded Interest ^ | 05/22/2023 | Anthony B. Sanders

Posted on 05/22/2023 6:45:54 AM PDT by Kaiser8408a

Like the famous novel “All Quiet on the Western Front,” its “All Quiet on the Default Front” as China Joe and Speaker McCarthy are set to meet again. In short, Biden wants to raise taxs on middle class and McCarthy wants to return Federal spending to pre-Covid levels. Sure, Biden throws around the Bernie Sanders’s tax on millionaires and billionaires line, but they know that M&Bs have professional accounts and lawyers to protect them while the middle class has Turbo Tax and H&R Block.

In any case, markets are calm (the calm before the storm?) although I think Biden WANTS to default and blame Republicans ahead of Biden’s reelection. The media will mindlessly repeat DNC talking points. So Biden is covered. After all, he says it isn’t his fault (although it is 100% Biden’s fault if America defaults because of his reckless budget and insane ramblings).

Let’s look at regional banks and the US Treasury SHORT curve: 2Y-3M. Notice that regional bank stocks have gotten demolished as The Fed tightens.

US Treasury cash balance remains dangerously low as Biden and Yellen dither the night away.

Bankrupt Biden. The US, not the Biden pay-to-play family.

I wish we could seize all the Biden family assets if Old Joe defaults. Or at least make Hunter Biden take care of his child Navy and let the poor child get rich off the Biden name.

Newt Gingich is right. Biden will win reelection, but mostly because Democrats will cheat and everyone let's it happen.

Even a majority of DemocRATs think that spending reductions should be part of the debt ceiling negotiations, contrary to the Biden administration position.

Yep. Partly right. There is a hell of a lot of corruption and the top republicans are in on it. The rest of the people are powerless using the normal route. Anytime the people organize, the feds move in and destroy it from within or set up fake crimes to arrest them. We have two enemies, one republican and one democrat. If we could just clean up the republicans, we’d have a chance. Hard to do when you have some people who love the establishment or are too weak and always want to toss in the towel.

I watched the Fox News Sunday evening line up last night.

Steve Hilton, I think, tossed up some Congressional estimates on total federal debt 10 years from now...

$51 trillion!

Interest payments alone will be more than the total federal budget for 2023!

The US Dollar will be laughed out of the international currency market.

Seems like it. They should approve a continuing resolution instead of defaulting. Raise the debt limit by 300 billion dollars. That should be enough for 3 months.

Every time I see senseless biden on TV and.or any of his minions... I think. “Our great country has become a laughing stock of the world.. how great thy fall!”.

I lived thru WWII.. it was bad.. but this breaks my heart.

Let me talk..

People out here are different.. not all, but too many are Godless. Too many parents do not set boundaries nor raise kids with character.. too many adults have no character.
Us it easier to just let kids be whatever they crawl into..than to teach right and wrong ecery day..

Lack of parental boundaries and the deep state accountability, shows up in government...and it stinks.

Criminals abusing authority and turning the power of the government on the people. My Lord in heaven.. help us...this nation

ENOUGH! Regardless what the GOP does they will get the blame. I’m sick and tired of the pansy ass whiney GOP “pretending” to fight.

It’s time to kick Biden in the nuts and force a good deal for American CITIZENS instead of the corrupt political elite on BOTH SIDES.

Hey GOP, the people’s Vaseline Rations have run out, it’s time to fight!

“Too many parents do not set boundaries nor raise kids with character.. too many adults have no character.”

Could it be that media raises the kids and is the adults’ moral compass?

The Congress could easily stop this. If they approve spending at 2022 levels and then adjourn and go home its up to the administration to make their own spending cuts. This could have happened long ago.

But now we have $32 trillion which they all know cannot be ever paid off so they keep kicking the can down the road to inevitable default. Hopefully not on their watch.

Worth repeating
Too many parents do not set boundaries nor raise kids with character. Too many adults have no character.

Easier to just let kids be whatever they crawl into . . . than to teach right and wrong every day.

The Death of Right & Wrong: Epilogue

https://freerepublic.com/focus/news/899553/posts

FrontPageMagazine article by Tammy Bruce - EXCERPT
In 1994 I was in my fourth year as president of the Los Angeles chapter of NOW. I had also served on the National NOW Board of Directors. It was a year I remember, for several reasons. It was the year O. J. Simpson killed Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, and the year my town was hit by the devastating Northridge earthquake. It was also the year Ronald Reagan announced to the nation that he had Alzheimer’s.

Ronald Reagan was hated, and still is, in the feminist-establishment circles in which I grew up. That milieu subsists on enemies and hatred. I took my cues from the women around me, women I admired. They were strong and confident, and they knew. They knew who was out to get us. They knew who was determined to throw us back into the Dark Ages. They knew Reagan was evil.

I tell you this not as an excuse for my past actions but as a further illustration of what I’ve been discussing throughout this book--the way malignant narcissism is spread. You see, the seed of my politics, the politics I espouse now, were already manifested in my voting for President Reagan 10 years earlier. I liked him, and I believed he had the best interests of Americans in mind. During my involvement with NOW, however, what took over was my need to be accepted, the romanticization of my "victimhood," and the power I could achieve by following the models of the women at the top. Those women were happy that Reagan was sick, so I would be, too.

The conditioning of the Left Elite works so well partly because the people attracted to that camp are looking for family, they are looking to belong; consequently people like that--people like me--are easy pickings. My emptiness compelled me to cheer when a decent man who followed his principles was struck down by an unforgiving assailant. Alzheimer’s had done what many feminist leaders fantasized about doing themselves, if only they could get away with it.

Today, I am still pro-choice, and I still support fetal tissue research. But I now realize that those who disagree with me also have good points. I hope they reflect on their position as often as I do on mine, because both camps are on the razor’s edge. I have made my commitment to women and reproductive freedom, while my compatriots on the other side of the fence, mostly because of their religious faith, have made a pact with what they call the unborn.

We will have to agree to disagree, but only now do I consider those on that other side decent people--as decent as I, but with a different focus. Ronald Reagan is one of those decent people, but in all the feminist establishment’s mirth about his illness, never did they consider, never would they consider, the humanity of the man . . .
