He felt guilty after George Floyd, and as a result of George Floyd , he decided to create this task force.
And now this task force has decided we need to pay reparations for slavery, and other types of discrimination, against black folks who can trace their ancestry to slavery.
Stay tuned. The dollar amounts involved are staggering.

Exactly, I was really looking forward to the chaos that would ensue if reparations went forward, the flip side is chaos might happen anyway once those who thought there were going to get 1.5 million realize they won’t get anything and be happy about it.
Those with sanity knew he was never serious.
He, on the other hand, was stupid.
Stupid to the point of not realizing the Black community would jump on it like a stinkbug in June.
I don’t see how “reparation” would be Constitutional in the first place.
The state (that has no money of their own) want to tax citizens who had nothing to do with slavery to pay citizens that were never slaves (in this country).
Slavery was prohibited in California as part of the requirement to become a state.
Americans died to end slavery in this nation that should be reparation enough.
If they can prove they are descended from slaves, map them to their common ancestors when slavery ended. buy 40 acres and a mule for each of those ancestors say in Alaska or Montana.
And then let the descendent’s decide how to divvy it up amongst themselves.
I suspect this is all kabuki theatre. The commission “demands” $1.2 million for each eligible black person. Newsom pretends to dig in his heels. Then after the dust settles, the state decides to give $50,000 to each person.
Everyone breathes a sign of relief. And behind the scenes the commission and Newsom congratulate each other. $50,000 was their target all along.
Maybe I’m wrong here. Maybe I’m being too suspicious. Time will tell.
Those are pretty expensive votes there eh Governor Hair Gel.
Just one more vast project started with half-vast ideas. This proposal was not well thought through before it was offered.
And even if the reparations are paid, who dares to say that next year, the petitioners won’t be back asking for even more? Once you surrender to blackmail, it never stops.

In 1917 the Bolsheviks preached that the middle and upper class had “stolen” their wealth from the workers. Many workers in Petrograd quickly interpreted this as a license for mass robbery, rape, and murder.
Tell the feral portion of California’s black population they are owed billions, don’t give it to them, and is the result going to be any different? White upper and middle class Californians are going to be pillaged, and the government will be there to facilitate it. Get out immediately...just don’t come here.
Much of the calulation for what you get has little to do with slavery. It is about being black and living a disenfranchised life as a result. That's how they get around proof of slave lineage.
