As The Federalist has recently reported, it’s becoming increasingly clear that the left is pushing toward social and legal approval of pedophilia. A failed effort in the Minnesota legislature to extend state-law protection to pedophilia as a sexual orientation should remove any doubt about where we’re headed.
Predatory adults apparently recognize the political problem inherent in protecting the “rights” of pedophiles. So they also cloak their efforts in the language of “rights,” “needs,” and “health” of minor children.

Liberals like Phil Donahue were introducing the public/women to NAMBLA on their daytime TV shows decades ago, Allen Ginsberg was taught to boomer college kids and was a NAMBLA defender/activist although he swore he wasn’t a member.
The Libertarians have refused to condemn NAMBLA for decades, right now NAMBLA is keeping (or being held by the left to) a low profile, but at some point, the left will see their moment and NAMBLA will be the hot new oppressed and marginalized group.

The funny thing is, if you are really an atheist, a true materialist, then you should believe that morality is just something of an accident. It’s just rules that we happened to adopt along the way because they were convenient, and helped keep society running smoothly, and they don’t have any more inherent value or “rightness” than that.
Why is a human sacrificing a child to an idol any more wrong than an animal who devours their own young when they can’t feed them? You can’t make a very good materialist argument that it should be, as far as I can see. Yet even materialists are repulsed by such things at some level, no matter how objective and logical they try to be.
