The late Queen was half Scot, the present King has English, Scottish, Danish, Russian and some German ancestry.

The present King’s most recent ancestor born in Germany was HRH The Prince Consort, Queen Victoria’s husband, who left Saxe-Coburg-Gotha in 1840.

Given logic of your argument, and the rate of German immigration to the US, you would have to argue that 50 million Americans are really Germans not Americans.

In other words, it’s a dumb argument.

When Elizabeth II and Prince Philip passed away all vestiges of decency and class went with them. There really isn't anything to look up to with this new bunch. It's hard to garner much respect for a guy who was recorded blathering to his mistress about wanting to be a tampon so he could live in her hoo-hah, the hoo-hah attached to the mistress who is now the queen. The royals now are just well dressed trailer park trash. The whole royals thing just lost a lot of it's luster and became less interesting. Without that they lose their tourist attraction value which is really the only reason they exist any more.

I don't have a dog in the fight but it looks like it would be a lot easier for the Brits to bounce Charles than it would have been Elizabeth. There's much less to recommend keeping these figureheads around now than there was a couple of years ago.
