I think that’s wrong. His contract runs thru Dec 2024.

It is probably worth paying him his salary to keep him off any competitor. His salary is chump change compared to his value. Worth more dead than alive, apparently. If Tucker goes on a competitor and is still under contract, then what?
To: alternatives?
I believe the goal is to remove him from providing coverage of the 2024 election.
That’s a Bingo. They don’t want his voice heard editorializing in the run up while the re-install the turnip.

He jumps contract and makes $50 million on his own network or from being offered that much elsewhere. If he’s sitting on $20 million now, he might as well jump. Yes this.
IMO Fox won't be able to hold Tucker for $20 million.
To: alternatives?
Brietbart has the
story, under Matthew Boyle's byline repeating this rumor. Boyle worked for the Daily Wire back when Tucker owned it, and reportedly was hired by Tucker himself, so there's a good chance he's getting his information from either Tucker himself or those in his immediate circle. For sure, Tucker is going to be trying to negotiate an exit agreement, which the Murdochs should ultimately agree to, but with an odious non-disparagement clause that will keep Tucker from telling the truth about Fox for, well, forever. That's probably OK when it comes down to it. Fox just destroyed itself, and may well have finished off the rest of the (dying) cable news industry itself.

Actually the greatest threat to Biden is RFK Jr. Their base hates the vaccine too.

RE: Fox will likely keep him under his contract until the end of 2024 to prevent him from moving somewhere else or starting his own show
//////////////////////
I think you are right. Until proven otherwise I think yours is the best explanation.
In book publishing an author whose multi book series contract didn’t produce the money the company wanted after the first or second book (fantasy,SF, children’s books, etc.) can result in the publisher refusing each new manuscript submitted (but mandatory they get one) while the author can’t start fresh or even write a standalone book. A form of slavery until the end date.

I understand what you are saying but Tucker makes his living using words. He can still speak out on platforms but income is restricted.

You should message that little tidbit to him in case his lawyers don’t know that.

What is to keep him from volunteering to work at another network? That would break his contract with Fox News.
But, it might release him from his contract. He'd be subjected to lawsuits by Fox News in all likelihood if he did so.

CNN should hire Tucker for the 8 pm slot and another conservative before and after Tucker and in one move they would become competitive.
It would let FOX know viewers DO MATTER.

I thought noncompete agreements keep you from being employed by someone else. Volunteering is not the same as being hired.
To: Lonesome in Massachussets
BINGO! If that is really being done. You know, a lot like allegedly paying off a hooker to keep quiet. Don’t get cornfused here, as it likely happened by the laptop looney.
