They are indeed.
“Darn right. At least once a week, whether they need it or not.”
As I suspect most people do. It is not a sign of white supremacy to brush your teeth before going to the dentist. Before I retired, my dental cleaning appointments were often scheduled for 4:00 p.m., so that I could just leave the office early to head to the dentist. I kept a toothbrush kit at the office so I could brush my teeth after lunch, and would use it prior to leaving for my dental appointment.
To me, it was just common courtesy since I didn’t think the dental hygienist would want to pick my lunch from my teeth or smell the evidence of my lunch or the several cups of coffee I had consumed during the day.
I also “dress-up” a bit when going to the dentist or doctor. I am entering a professional setting so feel it is a sign of respect to dress appropriately. Of course, over the past three years, I’ve lost a lot of respect for the medical profession, but I haven’t lost respect for myself.
"Cleanliness is next to godliness racism"
I used to tell my dentist if there was any pain involved, next time I eat Oreos and popcorn before my next appointment. Yes, I brush and WaterPik my teeth before going to the dentist. If I don’t, it takes his dental assistants longer to prep me.
As oldsters, did we have anything else to use when we were kids? I don’t think so. I don’t have ALL of mine but enough that I didn’t need false teeth. Had a broken one pulled last year and that was an experience - done in the oral surgeon’s chair without being given anything except perhaps a shot in the gums? No problem but the next day developed a clot that was hampering my breathing and went back to the oral surgeon and it was a “liver clot” that he took out. No matter how old we get, we’re never too old to learn something new.
brush my teeth? LOL I eat Oreos before I go!
/s
I usually eat a tin of sardines and a sleeve of oreos before I go the dentist \s
"Wasn't it actually the new Liberalism, coming out of the 60s, that shaped the world of Michael Brown? The enormously seductive power of 1960s liberalism was and is its promise to redeem and deliver us from the evils of white supremacy? This liberalism was so transformative that even many conservatives fell under its sway. Wasn't this liberalism far more focused on assuaging white guilt than on developing blacks?
Back in the 60s, we blacks made a very bad deal with America. We demanded that America help us develop. But if this was logical it also was naive. It seduced us into putting our fate right back into the hands of the same white America that had oppressed us in the first place. We began to live by a formula. America's racial guilt was our power. White guilt became Black Power.
Of course, there was a catch. To milk white guilt we had to always be victims of white racism. White racism and black victimization became the heart and soul of liberal power in America. [emphasis added]
