“...Disasters on the Rise or Is It Just Our Imagination?...”
-
“Disasters” are neither on the rise nor in our imagination.
Truck Crashes, aircraft crashes, train crashes,
fires, floods, ships sinking, etc.
These things have always been happening,
but with the internet, people are aware of them.
When you use characteristics other than competence to hire and promote, you get people with characteristics other than competence in control.
IMHO, it’s widespread, systemic incompetence. Used to be confined to government, the media, and academia, but now it’s spreading into every bit of society. It’s only going to get worse.
Chit happens, always has and always will. Without statitistical trend analysis it’s just coincidence being fed by hype, online media, and too many people with nothing better to do.
It’s called confirmation bias.
People = Bad
Stop breathing, stop breeding, each bugs and weeds, walk, and freeze at home. Fear, just fear everything.

‘this was a problem that was supposed to be addressed by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill that was signed into law last fall. It turns out, that was more of a green slush fund than an “infrastructure” bill.’

The reason for the perception is the increase in “right now media” — A fire in Woolamaloo in Australia? It’s known immediately in Washington
My 4-slice bagel toaster crapped out last weekend.
I’m distraught.
They are an indication that technocrats are being replaced by idiocrats and kakistocrats.

How many of the reported ‘disasters’ are actually disasters?
Also, there is more technology around us. Is there a per-unit rise in so-called technological disasters?
Much of what has happened, has happened because of failure of these systems and the folks that supervise them to properly plan and prepare for the extreme danger posed by huge loads of chemicals travelling through occupied areas.
These events are almost always caused by people who either don't know their job, or take lazy shortcuts, or are mentally incapable of doing their jobs.
In short, stupid people cause these disaster.
Don’t forget all the chicken farm fires!
