Onlookers swarmed social media with videos of the Chinese spy balloon being “taken out” over the waters in South Carolina Saturday.

The military probably got tired of being laughingstocks and begged Biden to let them do their job.
Yes. I think a lot of things are falling apart. That could happen in a good way or a bad way. I expect a bad way.
It should have been taken down over the Aleutian Islands or Alaska Mainland. That area is virtually uninhabited and the payload would represent no danger to people on the ground. The same can be said for Canada and Montana and the plains of the USA. We would have then recovered the spy package for analysis.
Why did Joe not order this? My belief is the Chinese own Joe and told him not to do this. He had it shot down over the Atlantic due to political pressure here. He did not want to shoot it down. So he had it done over the Atlantic in relatively shallow water. We will recover it. How much information will be lost due to salt water we do not know. I would suspect the Chinese had it rigged to self destruct and purge itself of valuable information.
Joe said he was advised not to shoot it down over land due to the danger of debris. I do not believe this. Any general that told Joe not to shoot it down over Montana or North Dakota should be fired. Montana and North Dakota are damn near empty. It is miles and miles of grain fields or nothing with a few widely separated towns.
In my humble opinion Joe Biden is a traitor and in the pay of the Chinese. They own Joe Biden!
In a final act of stupidity, Gropin’ Joe gave the Chicoms a close up look at a Raptor launching a warshot. F15 or F16 could have done the job and given away less intel.

1. We likely can fly that high.
2. We don't need to as the missile is quite capable of hitting targets above the aircraft performance ceiling.

We must have a laser to burn through the fabric of the balloon. Why waste an expensive missile on a barely moving, unmaneuverable target? Must have been done for the photo op.
What I've seen over and over is the explosion of the balloon, and the exhaust of the F-22 moments latter at the bottom of the screen traveling left to right. Then the video is about what's left of the balloon falling. There is also something that looks like a locator with blinking lights falling faster that the balloon debris.
I know what I saw 10 times over.
This was already a fail when it got within 5 miles of the west coast or northern US border.
I can’t believe that our multi-trillion dollar defense infrastructure was completely flummoxed by:
1. Lack of imagination on the part of the military.
2. Imbecile Democrats.
Taken down is such a way as to destroy all the equipment onboard so we have little hope of recovery of it’s hardware intact
All we needed to do was punch a few holes on the balloon with guns and we could have retrieved the entire system pretty much intact
