BREAKING: Kevin McCarthy FAILS 10th Vote for Speaker — FIRST TIME SINCE 1855 – Prior to Civil War!
The Gateway Pundit ^ | January 5, 2022 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 01/05/2023 3:38:37 PM PST by Macho MAGA Man

On Tuesday, Trump-endorsed Kevin McCarthy failed three times to win the vote for US Speaker of the House. It was the first time in 100 years that Speakership was not decided in the first vote.

Kevin McCarthy lost the third vote for House Speaker on Tuesday afternoon, with 20 Republicans voting for Rep. Jim Jordan.

The winning Republican can only afford to lose four votes! He must reach 218 votes to win the Speakership. And the GOP holds a narrow 222 to 212 majority in the chamber.

On Wednesday morning McCarthy lost a 4th time! Then a fifth time. And then in the afternoon Kevin McCarthy lost a sixth time.

This was despite the fact that President Trump endorsed Kevin McCarthy on Wednesday morning and urged Republicans to vote for McCarthy.

The actions of these principled conservatives who refuse to support Kevin McCarthy is infuriating to party insiders, the Uniparty, lobbyists, and GOP elites.

The 7th Vote was started at noon on Thursday – No Speaker. The 8th Vote was held on Thursday afternoon – No Speaker. The 9th vote was held on Thursday afternoon – No Speaker. And, now the 10th vote was held on Thursday afternoon – No Speaker.

“Congress brought to a grinding halt is another benefit.”

That’s what I was thinking. With no speaker does congress come to a standstill?

I’d be okay if the 20 said SHUT IT ALL DOWN until the border is secure.

No money. No Speaker. Nothing.

This is the genius of the Founding Fathers (God guided) that a group could represent their constituency against a tyranny of the majority. We are NOT a democracy and don’t follow the mob.

Let’s put the RINOs in the dustbin of history.

Your example is one of the shittiest laws passed in the history of Congress. Thanks for proving my point.

"The problem is that it is the same 19 who are voting against. There is no movement of others to or from McCarthy. Until that happens...."

It's now up to 21. That shows that some agree with their position, but are afraid of the "establishment". It's about time that conservatives stop agreeing to being told to sit down and shut up, and that the GOPe will let them know when they need them to go to the polls and vote. We have followed their directions for decades! What have we received for that loyalty? Gay marriage, "woke" universities, and pedophiles given teacher positions and allowed to go after our children.

That's in addition to unsustainable debt, historic inflation, and shortages of food products. Conservatives have been told to accept and endorse increased crime, criminals released with no bail, and a defunding of police.

In addition, conservatives are told to embrace the illegals who are moved into their neighborhoods, increasing the strain on social services, more crime, more illegal drugs, increasedprices, limited housing availability, and keeping wages low.

That is not even getting into them being quiet or joining the chorus when the "deep state" went against Trump for years (and the deep state continues to this day). Nor does it get into the harm they did to our nation as they took powers that they did not have and closed businesses and destroyed people's livelihoods.

My goodness, I could go on and on about what the GOPe, "principled" conservatives, while taking the 'high road' have allowed, and participated in, to be done to our once great nation.

I for one, am tired of it, and I'm glad to see a handful of representatives are tired of it as well. The question we should be asking is, why are not more standing with them? They too made campaign promises. Did they mean those promises or not?

At what point are we to say "no more"? It's past time to do so!

Authorization of the use of military force against terrorists was a “shitty law?”

And you’re thinking PL 107-40 referred to the “Patriot Act,” you’re dead wrong.

No, I know exactly the legislation you refer. This shit law was used to justify numerous wars that all backfired, killed thousands of Americans and cost trillions.

This is long overdue.

Republican leadership has used their positions to try to weigh primaries. They cut off funding to conservatives, they fund moderate and liberal candidates, and they openly mock us for it.

They pass a $1700 Billion dollar pork bill during the lame duck session giving in to anything Democrats demand but claim to be powerless to give us $35 Billion for a southern border wall when we have Presidency, Senate and House.

They go on CNN and shit on Trump.

This doesn’t even count the nonsense they pushed with Boehner and Ryan.

And then rather than negotiate with conservatives they threaten to cut deals with Democrats?

This isn’t just about McCarthy by a long shot. They can either change the structure that would keep their interference out of the primaries or they can go to hell.

What it may have later been used for was unrelated to the intent at the time it was passed. Would you have preferred we just bend over and take it again from Al-Qaeda?

Yeah, it’s not a binary choice. The proof is in the pudding. It’s a shitty law that’s cost this country dearly.

Come up w a better example (you can’t bc none exist).

Nope. I stand by it. It’s what was needed to respond to those animals that attacked us on 9-11.

What would’ve been YOUR chosen response to Al-Qaeda?

“ They can spend the next year doing this, for all I care. ”

But then they can’t pass any legislation that Bidung will either enthusiastically sign or veto

"Maybe these 19 are the newly elected, true conservatives."

I would say many of them are.. Fresh off the streets, and not yet bought or blackmailed by the "swamp"..

“This isn’t just about McCarthy by a long shot.”

This must be the line in the sand. With Mail In Voting the future elections are questionable. This is our last opportunity to start to clean things up with this House Majority, it will NEVER GET BETTER”. They literally stole the AZ election from us in our face. It’s now or never. Stand Strong Patriots!

Now the congressional clerk will have to start using his/her toes to count the voting iterations, in addition to their fingers.

Donald Trump endorsing McCarthy means NO Democrats can cross over to vote for him.
They can abstain from voting to lower the threshold for him, that’s all.
