Some here think McCarthy cut a deal with the rats to get the House. I think that is probably true. He will be speaker and we will get very little. What the rats got for their end will become apparent. The could have defunded Garland’s witch hunt but it doesn’t look like they will that’s probably item number 1.

There is a lot that McCarthy and the Republicans should be doing between now and then to avoid that debacle.
This, and the other article about rejecting 6 of 8 rule requests doesn't bode well for the idea that McCarthy is moving forward to placate his caucus in advance of the House roll-call vote on January 3.

The Republicans need to elect a MAGA Speaker who will refuse to recognize the election of members by obviously corrupted elections. AK with ranked choice voting not in accordance with the AK legislature? Sorry, the election isn’t recognized as legitimate. Detroit where ballots showed up in the middle of the night? Sorry, redo the election. Delaware County, PA where the ballots took an hours long detour out of view of the election watchers? Sorry, redo the election. McCarthy won’t do any of that.

I imagine by the time the RATS are through, they’ll convince the GOOBERS to give Nanzi’s industrial strength gavel to Dizzie Miss Lizzie Cheney.
With a three or four seat majority how is anyone going to get enough votes for Speaker. Let’s just hope the GOP doesn’t screw this up.
