WASHINGTON - The International Monetary Fund urged China on Wednesday to boost Covid-19 vaccination rates and give more robust support to its troubled property sector to restore confidence and reduce risks from a global economic slowdown and high energy prices.
In a statement following virtual meetings for its annual review of China’s economic policies, the IMF said it was maintaining gross domestic product growth forecasts issued in October.
These envision growth of 3.2 per cent in 2022 and 4.4 per cent in 2023, assuming a gradual lifting of China’s strict zero-Covid-19 strategy in the second half of 2023.
“Although the zero-Covid-19 strategy has become nimbler over time, the combination of more contagious Covid-19 variants and persistent gaps in vaccinations have led to the need for more frequent lockdowns, weighing on consumption and private investment, including in housing,” IMF first deputy managing director Gita Gopinath said in a statement.

I IMF is chock full of quackery.
The....
I think they are going to try and create ‘Covid panic’ part two... apparently China’s having ‘spikes’...
Is there any good data on the percent of people who have been vaxxed in China?
If the vaxx is the ‘Big Kill’, then I would expect a very low vaccination rate in China.
The vaccinations will never be effective enough for power hungry elites who lock-down at the drop of a feather.
Yeah.. to be honest I expected every citizen of China to have been vax’d multiple times by now.. apparently not... curious..
I don’t expect that anyone outside of China has been hearing what is actually happening, there, for many years. Inside, too.
I would think that they are swelling the ranks of their army, right about now.
My friend in Shenzhen city tells me they need vaccine document to enter stores or restaurants.
Yeah China! Come one! Fix your real estate sector! It’s easy, and we’re SURE you’re not even trying!
