In Washington state, animal cruelty is a felony.

Reasonable force can be used to stop a felony in Washington state against you or anyone else.

Tormenting a pet with a small stick probably will not require deadly force to stop the attack. A verbal command, calling the police or similar would probably do the trick.

A guy not responding to reasonable verbal orders and then scrambling to pull a gun and then displaying the gun in a threatening manner would meet my conditions of using my own gun to stop the threat. Regardless if there was an animal present or not.

I guess that the cameras are much slower than what the cop sees, but I didn’t have a clear view or a clean shot until the cop shot. Rewatching it, maybe one second earlier.

I was surprised the number of shots with the cops in a circle presenting a bad backdrop. But the second camera seems to show them all pointing their guns down and point blank at the criminal so pretty safe I guess.

“Repeat...that DOG is a POLICE OFFICER.”

There was a video on YouTube, “Dude Gets Shot 86 Times by Cops,” where the cops have the suspect cornered outside of a house. The K-9 Officer turns his dog loose on the guy and when the dog gets to him he stands up and all the cowboy cops open fire. Suspect is killed and K-9 dog ‘Officer’ is mortally wounded. I don’t know if any of the cops were charged.

Many years ago I worked with a woman whose mentally disturbed son was hit by a fatal volley of Police bullets after the son shot and killed their Police dog.

Police Object Lesson #1 - do not mess with the puppies!

I also read the Death Certificate for the son and learned a new word I had never seen before...

Exsanguination - to bleed to death.

When the video was in slow motion it showed him taking the gun away from the dogs head and pointing it at the officers.

That’s a SAD story!

Mortally wounded means the doggie died.

I don’t like that.

That is an ignorant take. After all the egregious police behavior we’ve witnessed these recent years, you’re advocating police retain complete authority to command citizens to drop their guns or die! FU!

Oh, you’re welcome. I read it on the Internet, so I know it’s true.

The video is very hard to watch because you see it.

Moron! You’ll change your mind real quick if some thug (know any?) pulls a gun on you, a cop orders her to drop it, and instead she aims it at your ugly face!
