Been hearing that Amazon’s stock was dropping.

I’ve had an Amazon account since the late 90s - years before they had Prime. My early orders were books and maybe music. And then an early Prime member.

IMO we don’t need to receive orders overnight or even in 2-3 days. As long as the orders are accurate and undamaged, receiving them in 5-7 days is good enough for me. Fullfillment orders all over the place have to be costing them a fortune.

I know that from experience at my own company. The cost difference between shipping UPS Ground and UPS 2 Day Air is very significant. So much so that when our clients ask for overnight or 2 day, we ask for their UPS or FEDEX account numbers so that they can pay the freight.

Even though Amazon is now doing a lot of their own delivery, they've got to be spending a fortune on 2 day shipping in order to meet their PRIME obligation. Most of what people order is just not that important to get in two days. But they (Amazon) painted themselves into a corner with this 2-Day PRIME promise.

In tbe early nineties there was a site called biblio-somthing. Great books. Amazon bought it I think.

Now I use Alibris as much as I can.
