WaPo: Joe Biden’s Student Debt Transfer to Taxpayers Is Expensive, Inflationary Mistake
Breitbart ^ | 8/25/2022 | Wendell Hesebo

President Joe Biden’s decision to transfer student debt to taxpayers is likely an inflationary, expensive mistake that will leave “American taxpayers footing the bill,” the Washington Post’s Editorial Board wrote Wednesday.

Citing a study by the American Enterprise Institute published in 2019, WaPo opposed Biden’s decision to transfer student debt because the greatest beneficiaries will be from high-income families. The paper also said the decision will fuel 40-year-high inflation.

Well, shut my mouth.

This should’ve been published earlier before Biden did it. If so, he would not have gone through with it. Biden will withdraw it (if this is really from the Washington Post).

First, there was the Inflation Reduction Act. Now, there is the Bailing Out Poor Life Decisions Act. Someone has to pay off the loan for that Film Studies Masters degree that has earned the holder a prime position behind the fast food fryer. Why not the engineering grad next door who has already paid his loan off?

I wonder if the fix is in. A constitutional expert tells Biden that he does not have the authority to cancel student loan debt. Biden makes the announcement anyway, just to score points with the yuppie class.

Then some judge strikes the whole thing down, as Biden knew would happen all along.

What a great way for Democrats to rescue America and themselves for the midterms. Joe comes out with an outrageous emergency executive order eighty days from the midterms. The DEMS in swing states now have a viable excuse to distance themselves from Biden, showing their bipartisanship and speaking out against this plan. They save themselves and the midterms.

This is Taxation WITHOUT Representation.

Hopefully it will go to SCOTUS and they strike it. Not holding my breath though.

Remember when Obama said he had a phone and a pen?

Maybe Biden remembers his old boss saying that, and thinks he can take executive actions whenever he wants????

Or maybe this is just a crass political move, to buy some votes in an election.

Every taxpayer can now, effectively, say they have student loan debt.

Inflation is a tax on the poor.

They are taxing the poor to benefit the woke colleges and the brain-washed indoctrinees.

...and then blames the ‘mean republicans’ for it, just before the November elections...

Think about what you just said. Biden would need the cognitive capacity to execute your plan. We all know he doesn’t. More like part of a Swamp setup to get rid of him.

Think about this, a few weeks in basement with Covid, Week in SC on vacation, now in Delaware basement on vacation again. NO public appearances. When he did show his face, he acted like a mentally deficient person.

Could this all be a set-up by the Dems to 25th amendment him? Seems way to close to midterms to pull this off without decimating Dem hopes in Nov. Then again, I hope the Dems shoot themselves in BOTH feet by Nov.

I wonder what the rate of late payments on these loans is?

I expect that with this in the news, many will stop paying their loans, and default on their payments, because of this.

From what I hear, they have not yet worked out details of how this would work. At a minimum, people are supposed to apply for loan forgiveness, but there is not yet a process figured out.

But in the meantime, I can anticipate many will simply quit paying.

Every day we wake up and are forced to pay for things that we don’t have a say in. I wish the protest against student loan relief would expand to other spending boondoggles

What does it cost the US for every illegal alien that walks across Biden’s welcome mat? I’d like to see an uproar about this!

Or maybe this is just a crass political move, to buy some votes in an election.

Certainly, that's part of it. Of course, Biden and the Democrats don't care whatsoever that it's inflationary. And they don't seem to worry about losing the "working class" vote, since this action would force a plumber's daughter to pay towards the lawyer's son's college education. And the plumber's daughter may very well be smart enough to go to college but without a means to pay for it.

Even if the courts strike it down (fairly likely) Biden can blame those mean ole Republicans.
