GOP Leadership in the House has responded forcefully to the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago, with GOP leader Kevin McCarthy directly calling out Attorney General Merrick Garland, and the Republicans on the Judiciary Committee tearing into the FBI for the raid.
McCarthy’s statement was straight to the point.

McCarthy’s tweet came hours after former President Donald Trump emailed supporters announcing the FBI was raiding his home in Mar-a-Lago. Trump was not at the resort at the time of the raid. It also comes after Garland in recent weeks indicated he was serious about moving forward on investigating the former president in relation to the riot at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee had strong words for and about the FBI after the raid became public. There is currently no indication that anyone on the Judiciary Committee or at the White House was made aware of the raid before it happened and was announced by Trump.
If they can do it to a former President, imagine what they can do to you.

Individual members of the committee also had comments to add.

The Republicans are currently expected to take the House of Representatives in the November midterm election.
The raid appears to stem from classified documents that were removed from the White House and taken to Mar-a-Lago. The National Archives have been working for months to get those documents back to no avail. There does not seem to be any link between the raid and the Jan. 6 investigation put on by a separate House committee and one from the Justice Department.

Preserve your documents? And why would he think the FBI would do that? That is the classic appointment of the fox to guard the hen house.
The FBI is utterly corrupt, from the top to the bottom. Down to the bottom because there is no outcry and resistance from the agents.
Maybe they should raid EVERY DC politicians home to make sure they’re not hiding any classified documents. I’d start with the multiple Pelosi and Obama mansions.
Would that be the same National Archive that sat back and literally watched Sandy Berger steal documents on behalf of the Clintons?

I think they are frightened, and have more or less decided that it’s time to make their move.
Trump isn’t dangerous, but he’s a symbol. Within an hour of his arrest, there will be a massive wave of other arrests and Biden will be retired.
They’re trying to make him a martyr so our side will get violent and give them an excuse to indulge their desire to arrest or kill US, to get absolute power. It’s called the top down-bottom up strategy.
