(WGHP) — Olivia Newton-John died at 73 on Monday morning at her home in California, according to her husband.
Newton-John died of breast cancer after a 30-year battle with the disease, TMZ reports.
The singer, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur and activist won four Grammys and had five No .1 hits and ten top-10 hits. She also had two No. 1 albums in the 1970s.
She is most well known for her role as Sandy Olsson in “Grease” and was passionate about the environment and animal rights.
Her husband released the following statement:
Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.
Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund.
Olivia is survived by her husband John Easterling; daughter Chloe Lattanzi; sister Sarah Newton-John; brother Toby Newton-John; nieces and nephews Tottie, Fiona and Brett Goldsmith; Emerson, Charlie, Zac, Jeremy, Randall, and Pierz Newton-John; Jude Newton-Stock, Layla Lee; Kira and Tasha Edelstein; and Brin and Valerie Hall.
And a gorgeous voice.

The West has changed since 1980... The good guys lost — and I just don’t give a damn about the new West, now obviously and clearly run by Lucifer.
No wonder the American military can’t find recruits: who will fight for “Cardi-B W.A.P.,” a celebrity that “President” (sic) Biden gushed over?

Ah - good to know.
One has to wonder whose yahooo you’re yanking that has allowed you to remain on this site for so long.......
Movie was dubious. ONJ was great
My reaction: Damn I’m old.
Having met her at 3 meet and greets I can confirm that.
She was a beautiful and very cute lady.
RIP
I remember her in GREASE, XANADU and the exercise song people used to do aerobics to — LET’s GET PHYSICAL. Between the late 70’s and the mid 80’s she had hit after hit after hit and was unstoppable.
The last time I saw her in concert was October 2018. Less than 4 years ago. It was a show with two other singers called Liv on about living with loss. Mostly sad songs but a few upbeat ones and comic relief. It was different and unusual. She asked audience members to come up and reminisce about loved ones now gone. They had mikes set up for that. She looked good still. She would have been 70 at the time.
Anyway, she's in Xanadu now. Rest in Peace.
Xanadu the movie, is constantly panned, and I have never truly seen it.
BUT, regardless, the album actually might be on the list of greatest pop movie soundtracks ever!
Too many people forget she was mostly a “country” singer, very successful, before “Grease”.
Over your pay grade.........
I know what you mean...
May she rest in peace.
I always liked her songs.
Well I’ll be,’Umblegunner had a post pulled.
I think somebody’s jealous... That he can’t sing.🤔
