The administration of President Joe Biden is preventing America’s second-largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant from restarting operations after it was forced to shut down due to a fire in June over alleged “risks to public safety.”
On June 8, an unexplained explosion knocked out Freeport LNG’s plant in Quintana, Texas, after the blast caused a fire that spread through a large part of the plant. This facility is responsible for bringing America over two billion cubic feet of LNG per day and 16.5 million tons of LNG per year. (Related: Freeport Liquefied Natural Gas terminal down for the ENTIRE YEAR due to pipe explosion.)
“Continued operation of Freeport’s LNG export facility without corrective measures may pose an integrity risk to public safety, property or the environment,” wrote the Department of Transportation‘s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) in its preliminary report.
The report stated that the explosion was caused by a safety valve that led an 18-inch pipe with inner and outer stainless steel layers to overpressurize. A 300-foot section of pipe burst due to the pressure, releasing about 120,000 cubic feet of LNG and methane into the facility and causing the explosion and the fire.

It’s going to be cold in Europe this winter.
The expense to liquefy, transport, and warm LNG has got to be a lot.
There is enough oil in the world, spread about in convenient ways, that pipelines for NG (not LNG) should be sufficient to supply the needs of the world.
Why can't Europe get all the natural gas or oil it needs from Norway? Why can't we get all our natural gas and oil from the US, Canada, and Mexico?
I promise you, I will end fossil fuel!
They can't ship our gas out to the EuroWeenies, keeping our price lower.
Sorry Eurolemmings. We told you to get off Russian gas. We didn’t guarantee we would sell it to you instead.
They got that little strikey thing going right now...
“It’s going to be cold in Europe this winter.”
LOL, Europe? Our number one and only concern should be HERE AT HOME!
This is from April.

If we do not export it it goes into the atmosphere…
Extremely misleading. The Freeport LNG Terminal liquifies natural gas for export, not for domestic use.
It is all part of the elite’s plan to kill as many as possible.
Henry Hub natgas was over 9 bucks per mmBtu the week of the explosion.
It's at 5.55 per mmBtu right now. I ain't crying over a blown pressure line.
In the mid 1970’s, US flagged LNG carriers shipped LNG from Indonesia to Japan. Several of my friends worked on those vessels-they made good money and worked four months on and two months off (maybe four off as well).
“Biden admin preventing America’s second-largest LNG plant from restarting operations”
Take that, Putin!!!!
Screw Europe, that’s what they get for being lapdogs of the US. They agreed to go along with these shenanigans in Ukraine, so let them suffer from that foolish decision.
He’s doing everything he can to help......Blackrocks China portfolio exposure. Brian Deese is on point.
Well, we conservatives need to stick together and help each other.
If the behavior of the Brandon administration is any indication, it will be cold here too. He’s sending oil from the strategic reserve to Europe to lower their costs, shows where his priorities are. What LNG we do produce here will also go there, but it’s not enough.
