I was going to say, for my first posting about women on SC, emphasis on “Stupid”.
I’m sorry, but Kagan and Sotomayor don’t strike me as very smart. Maybe nice, but not smart.
I’m not sexist. I’m a woman and I’m just calling it out.
You’re right about Thomas and Alito. Shame we have to rely on the elders to be smart and wise.
NO PRESIDENT'S NAME. Someone find old resignation letters and compare? Here's the letter from Stephen Breyer making his retirement official as of tomorrow at noon. https://t.co/TFafCgwGCC https://t.co/K2HhT3ewdA pic.twitter.com/w2L1JHU5G6— SCOTUSblog (@SCOTUSblog) June 29, 2022
In the immediate future. true
In the long run a relatively young liberal appointee could outlive a few conservative judges and, depending on who has the nomination power, will eventually change the balance in the court.
Elections do have consequences. There will be a big push to fill the vacancy before the midterm winners are seated.
This next nomination will likely be an openly gay or even tranny person. You don't need much imagination to guess how they would vote on issues. They would make the wise latina look like a screaming conservative.
If the republicans have enough cajones they could block a replacement through the mid terms. The batch we have now shows an uncanny ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory at every turn.
Stayed way too long Briar. Enjoy a short retirement.
“How many alleged women does this put on the SC at once?”
Kabangi can’t even define what she is.
“Breyer, who notified President Joe Biden back in January”
let me fix that. “Biden, who notified Breyer in January”
“Does history show any persons who started their SC judge tenure as liberals but later evolved into conservative constructionist judges?”
It’s almost always the other way around.
Yep. We lose an adult lib for a radical black female lib who can define what a woman is.
I choose to be cautiously optimistic. Sometimes justices surprise those who appointed them. I listened to Ketanji Brown Jackson’s hearings and she didn’t seem as stupid as some of the others on the court now actually (granted, I didn’t read her decisions).
In fact I will go out on a limb here and state that just because a man looks at teen porn once shouldn’t mean they should go to prison for 10 years. I think as a sister to 3 brothers, a mother of 3 sons, and as a wife—I know men can do stupid things and I agree with Jackson that some of these child porn sentences are a little harsh.
We’ll now be treated, daily, to pictures, quotes, and wisdom of one of Satan’s most evil inhuman acolytes...
Kagan is quite capable.
LOL
She, it, whatever is a puppet on strings. She’ll do what she’s told by the party.
Yeah, she is capable of running a law school. But she can’t decide law for schiff.
