We have one Independence Day and that’s July 4th. Anything else is pretend.

it is rather the date the 13th amendment was ratified, which occurred in December 1865, which applied emancipation to 100% of the USA and ended all state-supported slavery in the USA forever.

But was it really ratified?

Something tells me that the framers of the constitution never visualized bayonets pressed into the backs of legislatures *FORCING* them to vote the way they were told by Washington DC would represent a valid amendment process.

All those puppet state governments had no legal authority to ratify anything.

So true “American” enslavement of Africans ONLY lasted for 74 or 77 years. June 21, 1788 (or 1791) until Juneteenth 1865 (really December’65).

"Four score and seven years." The nation was founded July 4, 1776. The Supreme court has always recognized July 4, 1776 as the day the US became an independent nation. You can see their discussion of the point in Inglis v. Trustees of Sailor's Snug Harbor, among other decisions.

check, check, check... especially this one:
3) We want white people to do things about racism as readily as they do things for their own children.
Such as:

1. having engaged fathers as well as mothers or grandmothers
2. not raising them by a TV while off smoking or doing this or that ourselves
3. engage them at a young age in reading, mathematics and all-round curiosity (as opposed to teaching them by "shut up!")
4. support their academics, be engaged parents and demand excellence from their schools
5. teach them respect for their elders and love for strangers
6. teach them to judge others by the content of their character and not the color of their skin
7. teach them to earn a dollar, respect a dollar, and save a dollar

Etc., etc.

Heh, BLMiacs -- it's about culture not race.

That’s what they want.

What they may be getting is white people being increasingly fed up.

I celebrate the June 19th anniversary of the Rosenberg executions.

Ditto that.

P.S. June 19th is also National Martini Day. Well worth celebrating as well. In fact, you can easily celebrate both of them at once.

“free the slaves from their Republican owners. December 6, 1865. “

There weren’t many Republican owners.
We were the ones who freed them

I like Officer Tatum.

Re Juneteenth it was a grass roots organic American celebration that was called a jubilee. Nothing at all was wrong with it.

Of course it is now usurped and twisted.

“That is incorrect. Freeing slaves had nothing to do with the reason for that war. “

You can argue that point with Wikipedia. Here’s how they start their article on the American Civil War.

“The central cause of the war was the status of slavery, especially the expansion of slavery into territories acquired as a result of the Louisiana Purchase and the Mexican–American War.[14]”
