But, it did not go wrong for those saving children, did it?
And the oh so brave officers ran their lips and did nothing
I was advised once by a cop to wait till the river rescue team got there to rescue some flood water victim. I had rope. Dude in a car. Down, By the bridge over the river. Yeah he restupided to drive into it.
I gave him a ride home. Poor guy
Yes.
Her showing them up could be very embarrassing and might cause people to wonder why the heck we have these very expensive store mannequins standing around with their cool toys while little children are murdered.
At some point a parent is going to snap.
Sure, but how do you feel about the warning she recieved, from the police, not to speak to media outlets about it?
That's new, but becoming much more common.
Sometimes taking action: fast, unpredictable, violent by any means available, is far better than the perfect solution a day late. The mom going for her kid is perfectly fine even though all the professionals will provide a list of theoretical issues as to why a centrally planned, slow to arrive, slow to move (methodical), police response is the correct one.
The true solution to this is the proliferation of capabilities. One cop can’t fix this. In fact he’ll be one of the first targets by someone serious. Shoot the resource officer and then go to town. The real solution is if you have 5 armed school staff members that are spread out over the school and no one knows who they are. No matter where some twerp is, there is always someone close and quick to respond.
But this is America. We’re going to blame a gun. We’ll have some online virtual active shooter training and post a flip chart on the door... Hahaha. When is the Netflix movie coming?
The problem is that the “police” scum didn’t go in.
“.A million things could go wrong...*very* wrong...if a civilian,particularly one without a gun,were to be in there.”
Let’s give this mom recognition for her unwillingness to accept doing nothing.
Let’s accept the basic fact that these police could not respond effectively to a shooter inside or to parents outside the school. Let’s not pretend they have any business being in law enforcement at all.
Well, a Mama has to do what a Mama has to do. I would have done the exact same thing. “ Very wrong things” be damned.
You are so right! This woman might have ended up standing outside the room for 78 minutes and let the madman kill 17 children and 2 teachers! Oh, wait...
We are “citizens,” NOT “civilians.”
“ A million things could go wrong...*very* wrong...if a civilian,particularly one without a gun,were to be in there. ”
Stop making sense.
Don’t you know we are supposed to be outraged?
A million things could go wrong...*very* wrong...if a civilian,particularly one without a gun,were to be in there.

The most ‘wrong’ I can figure is that the mom gets shot.
That would be one thing wrong. Death count rises from 19 to 20.
Small percent increase.
If she had a gun, then does she shoot a bunch, upping the count toward the million wrong things?
I do not understand your logic.
Yes because its pretty humiliating when an unarmed parent will face danger an armed cop is afraid to confront.
