People forgot what natural born citizen means and a Kenyan from Indonesia was sworn in in direct violation of the Constitution.
The rule excludes those who have been twice elected. My thought was the Democrats would concede that he won in 2020 which would disqualify him. I don’t think the media would have any trouble spinning that absurdity, since nothing is too “out there” for them.
Biden was sworn in. Trump wasn’t.
No...that won’t be the strategy. It will be that DJT conspired with Putin to invade Ukraine. They’ll demand a special prosecutor...which will be appointed...and subpoenas will fly left and right.

If the Democrat Socialists cannot believe that Trump won in 2020, they have no argument. If in their hearts they KNEW he won, but was not seated, they STILL have no argument, and they knew it was a lie. Therefore, they cannot hold that both he WAS elected, and thus ineligible for a second re-election, and that he served the second election.
Logic is not their strong suit.
I think they could potentially pull this off. But of course they will let all the election challenges continue for the next two years and then with about 5 months left of Biden’s term, they will admit Trump won and install him into the presidency. So Trump is exonerated and gets to serve the last few months of his term but of course cannot serve a third. In the meantime, Trump will have probably run for the 2024 election and will have won the Republican Primary. So when he is removed from the ticket, the Republicans would have to install some late arriving nominee (the chosen VP?) and the whole party would be overcome with in-fighting and disarray. Sounds like a perfect plan!!

Democrats are desperate, but Democrats have been working towards this time when they would make their final surge for power over 150 years. I think they’ll probably go back to laying low incrementalism as they did most of my 75 mostly conservative years.

I agree 100%. Mr Trump’s real threat was/is he was not educated at the Republican/Democrat University, therefore should never be allowed close to the palaces of Washington.
Eisenhower was the last President before Trump that had never held an elected office. Unlike Trump though, Eisenhower had spent most of his adult life in the military bureaucracy and knew the system in and out.
Trump simply saw the system was broken and figured it should be fixed. He did not know that only the ones that broke it were allowed to “fix” it.

See, I was going to call this post stupid, because Trump clearly hasn’t been President for a second term. But then I realized that the 22nd amendment actually reads, “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice,” which isn’t what you argued but ...
Oh, wait... it’s still stupid. Presidents are elected by the Electoral College. Trump may have been elected by the people, but hasn’t been elected in the sense of the 22nd amendment.
