President Trump remains one of the most popular figures in the Republican Party. A vast majority want him to run again in 2024, and he has blown out other potential primary opponents in almost every poll.
The Republican establishment realizes that they cannot defeat Trump at the ballot box, so they have taken after Democrats by using underhanded tactics to defeat America First candidates.
RINOs in Tennessee passed a law that would prevent candidates who haven’t voted in the last three general elections from running, a bill that was primarily targeted at America First candidates.
Now, they have removed three Trump-supporting Congressional candidates from the primary ballot in Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District.
The Executive Committee offered no public explanation for its decision and has refused requests for comment.
The Epoch Times Reports–
“The Tennessee GOP has voted to remove three candidates who were vying for a seat representing the state’s 5th Congressional District.
Republicans voted to boot Morgan Ortagus, Robby Starbuck, and Baxter Lee from the primary ballot, Tennessee Republican Chairman Scott Golden told news outlets.
Golden and the party did not respond to requests for more information.
Ortagus, a State Department spokeswoman during the Trump administration, was recently endorsed by former President Donald Trump.
Starbuck, a filmmaker who used to live in California, has promoted Trump policies such as strong border enforcement.

What State do u live in Doug?
And?
Nothing in those bylaws offends me as a TN resident..
That's fine for you.
I prefer my party establishment doesn't require me to be part of the establishment if I want to run.
And I prefer that my party establishment doesn't limit who I can vote for to candidates who are part of the establishment.
But that's just me.
The establishment is corrupt.
Epoch Times...read it myself. I believe Citizen’s Free Press posted the link.
All they have to do is meet the reasonable requirements everyone is held to. You don’t need to be an insider.
Many comments here seem to say that a political party has no right to screen its own candidates. Living in and voting in the state is perfectly reasonable and keeps out riff raff.
We don’t get to change the rules because we like a particular candidate.
Living in the state and voting three times hardly is a requirement that you be part of the establishment.
Run as Independents?
Great idea.
All 3 Carpetbaggers should run.
I can see the GOP ads now.
“Why vote for a Carpetbagger who moved to our State just to run for office”
Good luck with that Run as an Independent idea.
Won’t set well for TN voters.
You mean a State like PA who the GOP is allowing Carpetbagger OZ to run for Senate?
Thx but no Thx. I’ll take my State’s GOP rules over PA any day of the week.
It's beyond that. You had to have voted in the Republican primary three out of the last four times and you have to be involved in a Republican organization.
>>> Lee is a businessman who has described himself as a conservative outsider.
The vote came after state lawmakers passed legislation that requires congressional candidates to have voted in three previous statewide general elections.
But Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, a Republican, returned the legislation to lawmakers without his signature.
The legislation will still become law but it will not apply to the 2022 election, the Tennessee Secretary of State’s Office told news outlets.”
Yeah just tell those Tennessee voters to knuckle under and vote for the establishment candidate and like it.
I think the author of this piece has it all wrong. The Tennessee GOP rules are very reasonable and benign. If every state GOP had rules like this, we wouldn’t see Congress polluted by A-hole interlopers like Mitt Romney and Lizard Cheney.
The law will be overturned in court. Can’t retroactively apply it.
Let the voters decide.
Probably did. Just not in TN. They only moved here recently.
Sheesh! Thanks!
It is not retroactive. It was passed in 2017.
First. It’s not a law. It’s a TN GOP rule added in 2017. Hardly retroactive.
Vote for the Democrat and slap Mitch McConnell’s weasley, deformed face
