Lol- I’ve heard of folks paying off bills with wheelbarrow full,of pennies or,nickles, but never a yone saving 1 million in nickles lol
" It was no secret by 2021, China panic hoarded half of the world’s maize and other grains resulting in increased food inflation."
"China’s buying spree of all commodities left many market observers puzzled by Beijing’s stockpiling motives.
Now we understand the second-largest economy in the world was forecasting a global catastrophe of widespread famine due to disrupted food supply chains."
" Global food supplies were already tight on a post-COVID basis due to snarled supply chains and adverse weather conditions in key growing areas worldwide.
The Ukraine invasion by Russia was a shock.
It fractured global food supply chains and sent food prices to record highs with the very risk shortages will materialize in emerging market economies dependent on the eastern European country."
Allendale : "Thanks to the green lunatic assault on the fossil fuel industry, natural gas, the core ingredient of fertilizer, is scarce and expensive.
Farmers around the world simply cannot get or afford fertilizer.
Crop yields will be down and there will be hunger, starvation and even famine.
Thank Biden and his lunatic greens for the coming hunger wars."
And the heads of the central banks
Even though we are doing Weight Watchers and going as low-carb as we can, I stocked up once again on brown rice and various dried beans with my grocery order this week. If it, ‘all goes to Biden’ I’m pretty sure I’ll lose weight naturally and will NEED added carbs as I scratch out sustenance with my own two hands! ;)
FWIW, and this is most likely due to the Avian Flu going around, but they had NO ‘Great Value’ 18 packs of eggs available. They have all the expensive ‘free range/organic’ eggs but I’ll be dipped if I’m going to pay $4 for a dozen eggs THIS soon. There’s no doubt in my military mind that we are heading in that direction, though. :(
I really need a flock of chickens again. I wonder how baby chick sales will be this year between people prepping where they can, and this chicken flu.
That said, I will check in the store when I pick up my order on Sunday. If they still don’t have eggs, I’ll hit the Kwik Trip. If Kwik Trip is out of eggs, we’re all screwed. :(
“It does sometime feel we little people have been left out of the loop.”
99.999% of Americans don’t even know that there IS a loop! And that’s all by design, Comrade. All. By. Design. ;)
Plan accordingly for you and yours!
I bought a dozen jumbo eggs at Walmart Wednesday for $1.64.
I did wheat free at one point and lost a lot of weight that way even though I was eating rice, oatmeal, and corn (popcorn).
With my food allergies, I am stuck on oatmeal and still have lost a lot of weight. Oats are very nutritious and high in minerals. If you have to do a grain, oats are a good choice. They keep well, too
I do realize that brown rice has a lot of B vitamins but it can also go rancid easily. I keep mine frozen to prevent that.
The 18 packs are normally running $1.48. We eat a lot of eggs. Beau stole my spot for a coop and put up MORE dog kennels instead of raising something USEFUL like God’s Most Perfect Critter: THE CHICKEN, LOL!
I have another 20 hours or so to add to my order, so I keep checking to see if eggs are ‘back in stock.’
Granted, there have been a number of times when they said things were unavailable and I went into the store and, BY GOLLY, they were right there on the shelf!
It’s obviously not a perfect system because some days, ‘Karen’ doesn’t ‘FEEL’ like walking ALL THE WAY OVER to the egg case to check for sure, as she pulls together my order.
*Rolleyes*
This is America, Dammit! I should have everything I want, when I want it at any given moment! And it had BETTER be at the absolute optimal price! ‘My Betters’ have TRAINED me to expect this!
*SMIRK*
Both of us really don’t care for oatmeal, but we know it’s good for us, so we choke it down a few times a week, LOL!
I freeze brown rice, too.
I like making the Overnight Oats in a half-pint wide-mouth Mason jar. A smidge of jam (homemade) or Apple Butter (homemade) in the bottom of the jar. 1/2 cup oats and 1/2 cup milk. Don’t even bother to mix it. It’s magic! If I’m using frozen fruit, I put that on top, put on the lid and put it in the fridge overnight. (If no frozen fruit, add fresh fruit of your choice the next morning.)
I take it out in the AM to come to room temp. It’s really creamy and that little bit of jam is all the sweetness you need.
Just checked Walmart on line and there are no longer any ball kerr lids. Just gone over night.
I’ll be hitting our local one in the next couple days.
I have learned that going early in the morning is most likely to be successful in finding stuff.
Ukraine has some of the most fertile soils in the world. With no less than 3 major rivers for irrigation water. They were the bread basket of the USSR and still are the bread basket of the EU. They are up stink creek without Ukrainian wheat. Sunflower meal the by product of sunflower oil production is prime chicken and hog feed too. Those feed lines will be critically short this year.
Has anyone started a prepper thread specific to preparing and timelines to the coming Biden bust? Focused on just this near term issue, not general prepping.
