I did wheat free at one point and lost a lot of weight that way even though I was eating rice, oatmeal, and corn (popcorn).

With my food allergies, I am stuck on oatmeal and still have lost a lot of weight. Oats are very nutritious and high in minerals. If you have to do a grain, oats are a good choice. They keep well, too

I do realize that brown rice has a lot of B vitamins but it can also go rancid easily. I keep mine frozen to prevent that.

Both of us really don’t care for oatmeal, but we know it’s good for us, so we choke it down a few times a week, LOL!

I freeze brown rice, too.

I like making the Overnight Oats in a half-pint wide-mouth Mason jar. A smidge of jam (homemade) or Apple Butter (homemade) in the bottom of the jar. 1/2 cup oats and 1/2 cup milk. Don’t even bother to mix it. It’s magic! If I’m using frozen fruit, I put that on top, put on the lid and put it in the fridge overnight. (If no frozen fruit, add fresh fruit of your choice the next morning.)

I take it out in the AM to come to room temp. It’s really creamy and that little bit of jam is all the sweetness you need.
