When America Is Weak, the World Is Less Safe: Projecting weakness does not prevent wars. It creates them.

Vladimir Putin is a brutal, violent, vicious dictator. There’s no doubt about it. There’s only one bad guy in the Ukraine-Russia conflict. This war is on him. But the feelings of impotence as we sit in the most powerful nation on earth and helplessly watch an enemy ruthlessly bomb an ally should serve as a wake-up call. When America is weak and inconsistent, the world is more dangerous. Our nation’s politicians and business elites have made years of stupid decisions that have weakened this country to such a degree that we are paralyzed when a madman with nuclear weapons is on a rampage.

In 1994, the Clinton Administration led other world leaders in convincing Ukraine to give up its nuclear weapons in exchange for Russia, the U.K., and the US guaranteeing the country’s security. Had Ukraine kept its nuclear weapons, it is highly likely that this war would’ve never happened in the first place. Ukraine entered into the Budapest Memorandum under the belief that they would be protected if attacked. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in February “Ukraine has received security guarantees for abandoning the world’s third nuclear capability. We don’t have that weapon. We also have no security.” Our inconsistency and unreliability as a partner have left an ally vulnerable to the whims of a lunatic.

Fast-forward to today and our leaders are still making inconsistent and stupid decisions. The Biden Administration foolishly kneecapped our ability to produce our own oil, taking us from energy independence back to dependence in the blink of an eye. As late as a few weeks ago, we were still buying Russian oil, helping to fund Vladimir Putin’s unjust war in Ukraine.

Our arrogance in thinking that destroying our own economy could solve climate change while China, India, and Russia openly pollute the skies led us to pursue self-destructive policies while our enemies sold resources to our allies. It was our leaders who sat idly by while our friends in Europe became addicted to Russian oil. Instead of producing enough energy to sustain ourselves and our friends, we’ve allowed our energy policy to be dictated by progressive elitists who have the resources to isolate themselves from the consequences of their stupid decisions.

Elites in both parties thought it was a great idea to let other countries produce things while we morph to an information and services-based economy. Doing that enriched the power of the elites at the expense of the working class. It also ensured that in times of crisis we would be at the mercy of the countries that made things. Our leaders shipped jobs overseas, destroying many American cities and enriching countries like China. They in turn use our own money to compete with us and align themselves with countries like Russia.

Biden and the rest of the world leaders refused to provide Ukraine with the weapons they requested until the war had already begun. They sat idly by while Putin amassed tens of thousands of troops on Ukraine’s border. Biden refused to kick Russian banks out of SWIFT until other countries forced his hand. He refused to ban Russian oil imports until political pressure became too much to handle. Putin believes that the President of the United States is weak, and as a result, he went in for the kill.

Bad decision after bad decision has led us to this point: betraying the guarantees that we gave an ally, our president embarrassingly begging our enemies to produce more oil, watching helplessly as Putin attempts to rebuild the Soviet Union and our nation doing the bare minimum in response. “Leading from behind” never makes the world a safer place. Projecting weakness does not prevent wars. It creates them.

Ukraine is not an ally of the U.S. Not in any formal sense.

You know what else makes the world less safe? As someone else put it here so eloquently; “running around the world like a coked-up rockstar, flopping his penis into everyone’s drink”.
Someone will eventually get mad and knock them out.

‘Vladimir Putin is a brutal, violent, vicious dictator’
Shame he doesn’t run a banana republic. He’d be a shoe in for U.S support

Bad decision after bad decision has led us to this point

Yes of course, but why were those very bad decisions made?

The answer is not to demand better decisions, that is to shout at the wind. The answer is to look at the system that is compelling those decisions and, beyond that, examine the philosophy that creates and nurtures that system.

The founding fathers understood that the nature of man does not change, the human heart is deceitful beyond all things, so we require a system to keep our immutable human nature in check. We are all familiar with the constitutional system that over centuries had done that job rather well.

If we have a system that compels chief executive officers of corporations to freight ship their manufacturing to China only to import Chinese manufactured goods or go bankrupt because their competitors have already moved offshore, we have a system in which the decision, the bad decision, is a foregone conclusion.

If we have a philosophy that says that our moral compass is embraced by a timeline of one quarter year or the next quarterly report, we have a philosophy that is going to give us that system. If we have a philosophy that says that America is unworthy, corrupt, racist etc. we have a philosophy that is going to give us that system.

If we have a worldview, a philosophy, the tells us that our system is corrupt and unworthy then our philosophy tells us that we must be more corrupt, more canny, more unworthy or be the fool. If our philosophy despises the fool beyond all others, we drench ourselves in cynicism. The triumph of cynicism will be our undoing. We need a value greater than ourselves.

***We sold them down the river. They are in a position to develop their own nukes and it could lead to nuke war. All because of a bunch of appeasement pukes.

Catch the drift
***Catch the mist, catch the myth
Catch the mystery, catch the drift

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auLBLk4ibAk

Tom Sawyer
Rush
A modern day warrior
Mean, mean stride
Today’s Tom Sawyer
Mean, mean pride
Though his mind is not for rent
Don’t put him down as arrogant
His reserve, a quiet defense
Riding out the day’s events
The river
And what you say about his company
Is what you say about society
Catch the mist, catch the myth
Catch the mystery, catch the drift
The world is, the world is
Love and life are deep
Maybe as his skies are wide
Today’s Tom Sawyer
He gets high on you
And the space he invades
He gets by on you
No, his mind is not for rent
To any god or government
Always hopeful, yet discontent
He knows changes aren’t permanent
But change is
And what you say about his company
Is what you say about society
Catch the witness, catch the wit
Catch the spirit, catch the spit
The world is, the world is
Love and life are deep
Maybe as his eyes are wide
Exit the warrior
Today’s Tom Sawyer
He gets high on you
And the energy you trade
He gets right on to the friction of the day

Projecting “solve your own problems” and “no bailouts” seems like a good way to encourage other countries to solve their own problems, and not rely on bailouts from Unca Sugar.

Hans plays with Lotte, Lotte plays with Jane
Jane plays with Willi, Willi is happy again
Suki plays with Leo, Sacha plays with Britt
Adolf builds a bonfire, Enrico plays with it

Whistling tunes, we hide in the dunes by the seaside
Whistling tunes, we’re kissing baboons in the jungle
It’s a knockout

If looks could kill, they probably will
In games without frontiers, war without tears

Andre has a red flag, Chiang Ching’s is blue
They all have hills to fly them on except for Lin Tai Yu
Dressing up in costumes, playing silly games
Hiding out in treetops, shouting out rude names

Whistling tunes, we’re kissing baboons in the jungle

Great summary in OP of all that is wrong right now. Too bad this is lost on so many Americans.

I blame our citizenry, as they are the ones who have voted these fools into office. Feminism, also a powerfully evil force behind all of this, the making of the soccer moms, Karens. Half our society has changed into such gullible pushovers with mush for brains, it’s surprising we’ve lasted this long.
