This would probably be a good time to remind everyone that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) refused to endorse Donald Trump for president at the RNC nominating convention back in 2016. We could have ended up with “President Hillary Clinton” because of that petty stunt, but fortunately, support for Trump was way too massive.
Cruz is easy to like for those of us on the right, so it’s always painful to watch when he has one of those “moments” where he figuratively pours gas on himself and lights a match. He had another one this week when delivering a speech in the Senate. Cruz said that the January 6 protests were a “violent terrorist attack,” using the approved talking points of Nancy Pelosi to describe what was actually a mostly peaceful protest.
That speech earned Cruz a trip to the forefront of the world of memes, and this little gem where he’s wearing one of the pink yarn hats from the Women’s March. A violent terrorist attack?
Good grief! Many of the people targeted by the Justice Department since that day are our friends and neighbors. It really was a mostly peaceful protest. Whose side is Ted Cruz on, anyway?

Cruz: "The way I phrased things yesterday - it was sloppy and it was frankly dumb... It was a mistake to say that yesterday."
He admitted he was absolutely wrong.
I guess eventually everyone shows his or her “true color”.
He simply said he phrased it wrong he didn’t say they were not terrorists and he was wrong.
He seemed panicky on Tucker’s show, but because he knew he screwed up not because he really felt like he needed to apologize.
You keep referring to a leftist. Which one?
You keep referring to a leftist. Which one?
>>I agree. I’m going to show Ted some Grace. Tucker let him have it. It’s enough.<<
Levelheaded thinking must prevail if we are to rid ourselves of these leftists that have overtaken control of our government.
We also must not act like the leftist in attacking each other’s character. We here on FR are on the same team and we need to show one another that same grace. None of us are perfect, none of us has it 100% correct.
You see, THE point is TEd acted like a LEFTIST...
...attacking Americans’ character...
which is just how you describe a leftist in your own words.
>>You keep referring to a leftist. Which one?<<
Ok, would it help if I said leftist(s)? I’m pretty sure you know what/who I’m referring to. The whole cast of characters battling against the soul of our nation.
Pick one or two, or fifteen. You know who they are.
>>which is just how you describe a leftist in your own words.<<
If you say so Billie. Pretty sure that’s twisting my intentions, but ok, whatever you think.
Per Ted’s Twitter acct...day after 1/6/21...
Ted Cruz
@tedcruz
Devastating. Heidi and I are lifting up in prayer the family of the U.S. Capitol Police officer who tragically lost his life keeping us safe. He was a true hero.
Yesterday’s terrorist attack was a horrific assault on our democracy. Every terrorist needs to be fully prosecuted.
I would have preferred a less mealy mouthed explanation and a simple apology for being way off the mark using the word terrorist. That said, He deserves recognition for being a pretty good soldier. I hope he focuses more on the unsavory FBI involvement in 1/6 and Pelosi's involvement. This should all come out next January. Also, he needs to continue to be a strong advocate for election integrity laws in the states and fighting the BS now being pushed by Dems.
Let me tell ya something. There was indeed some pretty hokie stuff going on up on the hill that day.
I saw video of people smashing windows, kicking in doors, going in to offices they had no business going in to.
Would you want somebody marching into your office? Kicking the door down? Hmmm?
I’ve been to D.C. many times. I can tell you, those capitol police officers and those protecting the White House aren’t playing around. They’re job is to protect our assets against an attack. THAT IS THEIR JOB FOLKS!
If I were there at the capitol that day and witnessed people smashing windows, throwing furniture, kicking in doors and such, I’d have gotten the hell out of there because I know enough to know, you’re either going to get shot or go to live in a 6x9 cell for a long time.
This whole thing was a leftist setup to be sure. That said, I love my freedom and don’t seek a 6x9 cold concrete accommodation with bologna sandwiches for breakfast lunch and dinner.
Ted Cruz was referring to those who attacked the cops, those who smashed up crap at the capitol. It should have never happened.
I agree, but he needs to differentiate between the ANTIFA operatives and innocent protestors. Guess which ones were violent? Guess which ones have been in custody for over a year??
“And then, Trump doesn’t ‘drink’.”
And I just did the “Beer Test” again, and got the same results. All you have to do is ask who would you rather have a beer with: The Democrat running for the White House or the Republican running for the White House?
With the exception of the (rigged) 2020 election the results were ALWAYS the person who obviously would be more fun to have a beer with...and that is bipartisan.
>>I would have preferred a less mealy mouthed explanation<<
I as well, but he paid the price. Huge public outcry and public humiliation on national television.
At least he had the integrity and courage to face that absolute Tucker Carlson @$$ reaming before God and everyone.
I loved it. I loved seeing him....corrected. lol
Agree
“I’ve been to D.C. many times...”
It shows.
So, let’s move on.
***That is the biggest crock-of-baloney expression. It is always used by people who don’t care what you’re saying and want it to stop. It was used by MoveOn.org when they decided we had heard enough of Bill Clinton’s perjury over sexual harassment so they told us to STFU. Well now it’s time for us to say STFU to that expression.
Criz also blamed the violence in 2016 at the Chicago primary events on Trump supporters instead of ANTIFA and BLM
An 880......huge by today’s measurement here

I had a Cruz for president bumpersticker made in early 2013 for what it’s worth ....a former fanboy was I
Cruz relies on advisors for sit reps too much it seems
Or he’s tone deaf
