Ted Cruz Dons the Pink Yarn Hat of Social Justice
biggunbulletin.com ^ | 1/6/22

This would probably be a good time to remind everyone that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) refused to endorse Donald Trump for president at the RNC nominating convention back in 2016. We could have ended up with “President Hillary Clinton” because of that petty stunt, but fortunately, support for Trump was way too massive.

Cruz is easy to like for those of us on the right, so it’s always painful to watch when he has one of those “moments” where he figuratively pours gas on himself and lights a match. He had another one this week when delivering a speech in the Senate. Cruz said that the January 6 protests were a “violent terrorist attack,” using the approved talking points of Nancy Pelosi to describe what was actually a mostly peaceful protest.

That speech earned Cruz a trip to the forefront of the world of memes, and this little gem where he’s wearing one of the pink yarn hats from the Women’s March. A violent terrorist attack?

Good grief! Many of the people targeted by the Justice Department since that day are our friends and neighbors. It really was a mostly peaceful protest. Whose side is Ted Cruz on, anyway?

You can move on with the rest of the Bush wing of the GOP. The rest of us wont be forgiving so fast. If ever.

Remember how everyone loved Cruz not too long ago?

I’ll give him some slack. But that was really asinine to call these people terrorists.

Why feed into the (again) false narrative of commies that this was “terrorism”, “treason”(LOL coming from commies), “insurrection”, or even “rioting”. It was about the lamest of any of those things I’ve ever seen.

Thank you!
He made a mistake. Weigh that against his over 10 years of speaking as a Senator on conservative issues and his 20 years working on conservative issues in our state.

NOT Trump

Trump is not part of our "ruling class." He leads a large constituency, but by their own volition. The feature of "class" is entitlement because you are a member of the class. Janteenth and Cruz's signing on are a reminder that the class does not recognize Trump as a member and if he ever was they have excommunicated him publicly and think it in their interests to let everyone know that Trump is not one of the ruling class.

I agree.

If he keeps up a pattern of stupidity and liberalism, then sure he should be ostracized.

As is though, I’ll keep this absurd comment in the memory banks.

Forgive, but never forget.

Facing facts that we have a complete and utter takeover of public education in this country filled with leftist agenda indoctrinating our children and then at age eighteen they take their minds now full of mush to the voting box and vote for more lefty BS is not emotion. It is a fact.

It is a fairy tale that one “well-spoken” statesmen is going to save millions from leftist control.

I disagree with President Trump on the safety of the vaccine, yet he does not call those of us who do so “morons” or insult us.

But Ted here is supposed to be fighting for Americans held now over for a year in confinement.

He just called them terrorists.

Cruz remains in the Senate because of DJT.

We are not eating our own Cruz is. He deserves now once and for all to pack his bags and find a good cable news show to call his own

Exactly so. No one forced him to call Americans protesting a rigged election “terrorists.” He did that all on his own.

>>Trump-bashing seems to flow easily from you.<<

Trump is OUR vehicle for change. This is not about Trump at all, it is about us...you and I. Everyone puts Trump on a pedestal.

I don’t like Trump’s personality. The name calling, the sophomoric ego trips, the bloviating and the me me me, look what i’ve done nonsense. I believe he has some character flaws that grind on me.

He is definitely not someone I’d sit and have a beer with.

That said, After a few months of his presidency, he proved to be a damn good pro-American president. I have warts, you have warts. So what.

When I heard Ted Cruz make his statements, I immediately contacted his office and flamed him. He deserved it. But I can look back at my own past and think, “damn I wish i’d never said that”.

Haven’t you?

If Trump runs again, I’ll definitely get behind him. I’m certainly not going to go out on various right leaning sites and pummel the guy verbally when we are trying to take back the house/senate/white house. Good grief!

“But Ted here is supposed to be fighting for Americans held now over for a year in confinement. He just called them terrorists.”

Good point! And given that description, does Cruz think they should be sent to Gitmo?
