So, of course, he’s trying to please all of his voters.

By pissing on the core of his voters without whom he is toast. Does he think the can kiss and make up.

“ Cruz made a mistake.”

It wasn’t a mistake. A mistake is something done accidentally. Cruz dropped his drawers, slapped his wang on the table, and hit it with a hammer.

“He apologized.” He never apologized. I watched every word. He did the typical politician two-step trying to justify why he said what he said.

“Better hope he is not politically dead. Leftist commies from around the nation/world will be pouring $$ millions $$ into the state of Texas to dethrone Ted Cruz in place of some leftist lunatic.”

Yep. He just opened the door for Beto just about as wide as it can go. And it’s all his own fault.

And his rationalization was a lie. The next day or so after the original event, he called the entire thing a “terrorist attack,” not just attacks on cops.

Cruz made a mistake. He apologized. We need to hold his feet to the fire and move on. Tucker made him pay on national television. It's enough for me.

Okay, having watched the interview, I think the "terrorist" remark was just a mistake. He said some good things in the interview, like agreeing that Ray Epps is likely an FBI paid provocateur. He claims he always refers to people who assault cops as terrorists. He needs to stop that and call them what they are - criminals. The remarks the other day were definitely an unforced error.

Have you reviewed those cases? Lost twice as many as won and the cases were not very significant. The cases are detailed at Oyez.
This is a summary.

It surprised me that ted cruz was so far out of touch with regular folks’ conservative views.

Hard to say of Carlson is legit or just another character in the kabuki theater.

Voting for the later case.

Nice of him to make all of Trump’s primary commercials.

“””He said some good things in the interview, like agreeing that Ray Epps is likely an FBI paid provocateur.”””

And why is it that the only folks talking about Ray Epps yesterday were Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene?

Why aren’t the 50 GOP Senators and the 200 plus GOP House members also talking about Ray Epps?

Why is the GOP seemingly trying to coverup for the Deep State?

I agree. It would be best if he were freed to work directly for Goldman Sacks. Texas has other potential senators waiting in the wings and Beto is a toad who will torpedo himself.

I was a Cruz supporter in the 2016 primaries, until it became clear Trump was the leader and willing to fight.

Since then, I have observed Cruz go squishy a few different times, this being the last incident.

It is more and more clear how we dodged a bullet with the election of Donald Trump.

Any other Republican presidential candidate would have been just a slower disaster than Hilary.

More and more, I see President Trump's election as the hand of Providence.

I will keep praying for the healing of the Republic.

It is a shame that Conservative have given Cruz a pass on his many lies, evasions and self-serving behavior. Perhaps he has now outed himself enough for the fog to clear.

I am disappointed because Ted has been positioned to advance America and combat the left but has squandered all opportunities by choosing self aggrandizement and satisfaction of base instincts. Not to mention he is clueless & tone deaf.

Brilliant! Although probably not so directly, I’d wager all newly elected members of Congress receive that message in one way or another within their first week. One of the greatest movies ever filmed, ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,’ made exactly your point about insincere ‘sincerity.’ Even though in fiction the hero almost always has to win, ‘Mr. Smith’ is still the most honest look behind the curtain of politics. The point of it is as true today as it was then.

I agree he is not all bad, but a solicitor general is serving the interests of the government. That does not necessarily mean he agrees with the arguments he uses to win. He is very smart, and he knows it. He just needs to practice at appearing authentic.

>>but a solicitor general is serving the interests of the government.<<

Well yes and no. Solicitor general of the state of Texas defends the rights of the citizens of Texas against federal edicts that we decide are over reach.
