The Texas Senator who has been morphing into a wolf like caricature, left himself naked to his enemies yesterday by his own choosing. After proclaiming the J6 protestors were “violent terrorists”, the articulating stutterer must have realized he stood on a political landmine.
Ted Cruz quickly appeared on Fox News with Tucker Carlson in an attempt to regain credibility. It’s interesting that Cruz chose the Tucker Carlson show for the effort, and it’s interesting that Carlson gave him the opportunity. However, the result was predictable. You cannot create authenticity where only inauthenticity exists. If you try, what you end up with is a hole digger that keeps digging. WATCH:
…”The more he spoke of his honor the faster we counted the spoons.”
This will cost him not only his future run for the presidency (which is also stupid because he doesn’t qualify via his lack of being a natural born citizen), but it will cost him his Senate seat as well.
Oh well. He’ll get the lifetime tax free pension and a guest spot on foxnews shows so there’s that.

“””Yep. Nailed it. Cruz never dealt with Tucker’s core question. To wit: “Why did you knowingly play into the hands of a cabal seeking to criminalize Trump suporters?”
Cruz’s excuse that he spoke stupidly does not hold water. He does not speak stupidly.”””
And you, Louis Foxwell, also nailed it.
Ted Cruz does not have a reputation of speaking stupidly. For 10 years Cruz has been known to speak clearly and very concisely.
This is why I admire Tucker. He could have let oily Cruz off, but he knew better. For whatever purpose, Cruz spoke deliberately. He is not on our side.
And dude, get rid of the silly beard. Either grow one or don’t.
Sez me.
Tucker did a great job. Cruz fell into the DIM trap of using their talking points and agenda. What a stupid and dangerous statement he made.
In the 2016 primary, my first pick was Wisconsin governor Scott Walker. He decided to drop out after only 6 weeks of campaigning.
My next pick was Texas governor Rick Perry, but then he also dropped out before the Pennsylvania primary election date.
Ted Cruz was my third pick until he decided to select Carly Fiorina as his VP running mate (She is responsible for destroying Lucent, which had a large facility in the Lehigh Valley).
I voted for Donald Trump in the primary, mostly by default.
Now Ted Cruz is completely dead to me. He is a turncoat, a traitor, a sniveling Benedict Arnold.
Ted Cruz is a coward.
Ted was the origibal nevertrump. When Trump won the nomination he tried to change his tune but he still can’t help hitting some of the notes wrong.
“””Cruz made a mistake. He apologized.”””
\-—
Cruz did not apologize. He tried over and over again to rationalize his words ‘violent domestic terrorists’.
That is not an apology.
Now he said something even more shocking.
In both cases he is agreeing with the narrative of establishment Left and elites. However on many policies at least he is much more reasonable than the establishment Left. So I take him for better than the Left, but not good.
He’s a politician first. He’s up for re-election in two years. So, of course, he’s trying to please all of his voters.
Not to be trusted....but few politicians are. And we put so much trust in them. It puts us in a difficult place since they are supposed to represent us.
I questioned myself in the 2016 election, why I supported Trump and not Cruz....when I thought that Cruz stood for most everything I believed. Looks like I made the right choice.
Lifetime yes, tax free no.
Yup !
For an attorney, who is supposed to choose his words carefully,
Cruz offered the most mealy-mouthed explanation.
"Foisted on his own Petard" !
I watched, though I didn’t have to watch, to know that what Cruz said was inexcusable.
And yet Cruz is one of the best the GOP has at that level. Maybe any level.
Why is that?
I’d settle for a bunch of people with a lot less intellect and education, but a lot more backbone and conservative principles.
Seems like conservatives now are only conservative relative to whatever’s typical on the left, which is only going further left and is already insane.
Why won’t true conservatives fill the ranks of the GOP? It is more appropriate to call it the Collegiality Party now. As such it will never save the republic.
Veteran politician to political upstart: “Son, the key to a successful career in politics is sincerity. The sooner you learn to fake that, the better you’ll do.”
Pretty much a perfect summation of Ted Cruz. He thinks he’s so clever but he’s so transparent.
Conservatives are easy to trick and confuse and that’s why many *LOVE* Canadian Ted.
I’m not so sure about that...seems they have great accountants who know how to get every benefit from being a super elite.
Oh yeah free healthcare too I believe and exempt from injection mandates?
Kind of unforced error!
