Yesterday, I used a dumb choice of words and unfortunately a lot of people are misunderstanding what I meant. pic.twitter.com/vWCjFnA4t3— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) January 7, 2022
I was NOT calling the thousands of peaceful protestors on Jan 6 terrorists. I would never do so; I have repeatedly, explicitly said the OPPOSITE—denouncing the Democrats’ shameful efforts to do so & to try to paint every Trump voter in America as “terrorists” & “insurrectionists”— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) January 7, 2022
I was ONLY talking about the limited number of people who committed violent assaults on police officers.
For over a decade, I’ve referred to those who violently attack police officers as terrorists. If you assault a cop you should go to jail.— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) January 7, 2022
The snippet from yesterday didn’t include my passionate & repeated defense of the patriots and peaceful protestors supporting President Trump. I’m sorry that that 20-second clip led so many to misunderstand what I was saying.— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) January 7, 2022

Sorry Ted,you lost me who used Gombe a fan.
You’ve got a LOT of work to do to win me back.
See Teddy.
See Teddy backpedal.
Pedal, Teddy, pedal.

[So unbecoming — to see a politician backpedaling.]

And there is the ‘rule of the hole’ ...
Oh ye of little faith. The media has you by the short hairs, obviously.
No Cruz steady faux pas have me done with him
First was when he objected to Trumps call for a wall in the primaries
Called it unamerican
In March 2013 he blamed Chicago political violence by black mobs and ANTIFA on Trump supporters
And now this
That’s just off the top of my head
Color Ted gone
He sounded like Clinton I did not have sex with that woman.
Cruz musta got some gawdawful slapdowns......and is now trying to save his trashed rump.
“Poor choice of words” my aunt Tilly.......he knew EXACTLY what he was saying.
He’s trying to work both sides hoping to sideline Trump.
Stupidity on steroids.
Huh?
How’s a federal legislator able to sit on his hands and do nothing but vomit up some words for the camera?
He has power. He may have duped the usual suspects among us, that constantly line up to support the pathological liars, rapists, and thieves that he has no choice but to sit there and whine, but that is not reality.
He has power. He simply chooses not to use it. If he really wanted that bullshit ended, he could stir up so much hash for the perps that they’d end the bullshit just to get out from under the mess.
But he doesn’t.
because he’s part of the problem.
So it's OUR fault for "misunderstanding" what he said. Keep digging Ted. Should have just said I was wrong, very wrong. I never should have used the word terrorist regarding the jan 6th events. Please accept my apology.
Interesting that you keep saying "he has power", but never actually said what that power is. So be specific - exactly what legal power does Ted Cruz or any other GOP Senator have to remove that judge from office??
And again - be specific about the exact power you claim he has.
Federal legislators, house and senate, have a crap ton of personal power to throw around as needed.
they have the ability to raise all kinds of hell and discontent at will at any target they care to choose.
We see the leftists do it regularly. It’s only the GOP that sits on their hands and claim powerlessness.
And it’s the usual useful idiots that always go along with it.
If Cruz or any other GOP wanted that judge punished for abuse of power, all that needs be done is invoke the Deprivation of Rights by Color of Law, law.

DEPRIVATION OF RIGHTS UNDER COLOR OF LAW
SUMMARY:
Section 242 of Title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.
For the purpose of Section 242, acts under “color of law” include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within their lawful authority, but also acts done beyond the bounds of that official’s lawful authority, if the acts are done while the official is purporting to or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties. Persons acting under color of law within the meaning of this statute include police officers, prisons guards and other law enforcement officials, as well as judges, care providers in public health facilities, and others who are acting as public officials. It is not necessary that the crime be motivated by animus toward the race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin of the victim.
The offense is punishable by a range of imprisonment up to a life term, or the death penalty, depending upon the circumstances of the crime, and the resulting injury, if any.
TITLE 18, U.S.C., SECTION 242
Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, ... shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.
That is a criminal statute, and Cruz literally has no more ability to "invoke" it than do you or I. The only people who can "invoke" that are U.S. District Attorney's and the DOJ - all of which are controlled by the Democrats.
This has always been a limitation on party that is not in power. They literally have no legal right to prosecute charges against anyone. That must be done by the executive, not the legislative, branch of government.
Seems if the story were false Raphael of Canada would have demanded an investigation either in the Senate or by the Attorney General.. instead of crying over candidate Trump's response to the Foxes.. yet here we are all these many years after the episode and ‘you’ attribute malice to President Trump …. Ignoring the facts as they happened, chiding we mere commoners for finding Raphael less honest and conservative than he likes to sport himself…. He is a two-bit lawyer with visions of grandeur…
It’s been a recurring theme. After awhile you have to assume it’s intentional.
You don’t believe he could raise a stink big enough to force action if he chose to do so?
You’ve gotten so accustomed to the excuses for nothing ever being accomplished by “our” GOP leadership and elected minions?
If you ever get around to really wondering why everything is so f***ed up, just look in the mirror for an answer.
Act like cattle get treated like cattle.
Cruz has called Trump supporters terrorists on prior occasions last year.
Senator Ted Cruz on Thursday denounced the statement President Trump issued after a mob of his supporters descended on the Capitol building Wednesday, forcing lawmakers to evacuate and unleashing a wave of violence that has resulted in the deaths of five Americans, including one Capitol Police officer.
“The president’s language and rhetoric often goes too far. I think, yesterday in particular, the president’s language and rhetoric crossed the line and it was reckless,” Cruz said in an interview with ABC13 Houston.
“I disagree with it, and I have disagreed with the president’s language and rhetoric for the last four years,” the Texas Republican added. “If you looked to what I have said, you will not find me say the same language or rhetoric.

Give it up Ted.
Give your Senate seat to some responsible person so Beato won’t get it.
He is getting free publicity out of it, too!
That’s for sure. But I’m not certain it’s exactly the kind of publicity he hoped for.
He sounds like Jackie Gleason in the Honeymooners.
